Deni was young when her family relocated to Costa Rica in the mid-1990s. However, after her father's friend convinced him to relocate to Maui, Hawaii, they moved and settled there instead.

Initially, the celebrated actor thought that taking his family to different places and spending time together would be an effective way for his children to learn more. However, the idea turned out to be the opposite.

As Deni grew up, her father's career caused her to spend less time with him. Initially, Deni was homeschooled, but she wished to attend school, which decreased her and her dad's quality time together.

Among the actor's three daughters, Deni is the most elusive, with few public appearances. However, she did make notable appearances in both 1995 and 2015.

In 1995, Deni was seen with her father attending a theater performance of "Hamlet" at the Belasco Theatre in New York City. She seemed asleep as her dad carried her close to his chest as they headed to the event.

In 2015, a grown-up Deni was spotted with her dad attending a football match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Toulouse FC (TFC) at Parc des Princes stadium in France.

She also enjoys traveling with her parents. On June 9, 2018, Makani appeared with her father and mother when they attended the French Open 2018 in Paris, France, with their seemingly relaxed fashion.

Deni's dad and his wife have been together for over three decades. They first met in 1987, when Laura was working as his personal assistant, but their relationship was not romantic for another three years as Woody avoided developing feelings for his assistant.

Woody Harrelson confessed his feelings for Laura, and the couple began dating. After nearly two decades of dating, the pair officially tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in Hawaii in 2008.
