Rosie O'Donnell Showered with Birthday Wishes as She Turns 61: 'I Will Never Not Love You'

Since entering her 60s, Rosie O'Donnell revealed that she had entered her third chapter in the book of life and was ready to put the past behind her. This year, the comedian celebrated turning 61, surrounded by love and with an exciting new project.

On March 26, Rosie documented how she celebrated her 61st birthday— which she described as the "best birthday ever"— when she took to Instagram to share a picture of herself in the comfort of her home and with her loved ones. Fans of the comedian also flooded her comments section with sentimental messages and birthday wishes.

One fan wrote, "Happy Birthday Month, Rosie!! Wishing you an abundance of happiness & excellent health!!" Another fan shared, "I will never not love you! Happy Birthday," and a third echoed the same sentiment with their words, "Happy Birthday, 61 years young (same age)." A fourth fan typed, "Happy birthday! Welcome to 61. BEST YEAR EVER !!"

The same day Rosie celebrated turning 61, she also marked the launch of her podcast "Onwards" on iHeartPodcasts' Outspoken Podcast Network. Rosie kickstarted her new project by welcoming Emmy award-winning star of "Cagney & Lacey," Sharon Gless, and the longtime friends spoke about everything, from old Hollywood to love and friends.

After turning 60, Rosie shared that she saw life as a book with three chapters: from zero to 30, 30 to 60, and 60 onward. "I'm in the third chapter of the book. So let's put all the past in the past, and let's just focus on being where we are right now and onward to another day. And that's kind of the place that I'm at in my life and career. And that's the place that we arrive at the podcast," Rosie said.

In her birthday Instagram post, Rosie's youngest daughter, Dakota, stood by her side. However, the actress and comedian is a mother to five children. She was a single parent when she adopted her eldest child, son Parker O'Donnell, in 1995. But her former wife, Kelli Carpenter, also became his legal parent.

Rosie and Kelli adopted their eldest daughter, Chelsea Belle O'Donnell, when she was a baby before adopting their third child and youngest son Blake Christopher O'Donnell. Before their relationship ended, Kelli and Rosie O'Donnell added their last child together, daughter Vivienne Rose O'Donnell, to their family. After marrying her second wife, Michelle Rounds, the former couple adopted Dakota, who was born on January 5, 2013.
