Bill Gates cannot wait for his grandchild to "discover the world," he wrote on social media. In what looked like a coordinated move, Melinda French Gates and her ex-husband posted their respective first photos holding their daughter, Jennifer Gates's daughter, at the same time yesterday.

For Melinda French Gates, there was "nothing quite like holding" her first grandbaby. "I am bursting with pride watching [Jennifer] and Nayel step into their new role as parents," she wrote on April 6, 2022. It's unclear from their posts the exes visited the baby together.

Jennifer announced the arrival of her healthy newborn with her husband Nayel Nassar on Tuesday with a photo of them delicately holding the baby girl's feet. They have not disclosed the infant's name yet. "My heart overflows," her mom commented.

Microsoft co-founder stated in a blog last December that he would not be slowing down from his philanthropic efforts "anytime soon." Becoming a grandparent added "a new dimension" to his work.
