How Did John Lennon Become a Stay-At-Home Dad?
Lennon's musical career blew up as a member of the Beatles. He was one of the faces of the band as a lead guitarist and a co-lead singer.
However, outside of his successful career, he was also a family man, and his relationship with his wife, Yoko Ono, was also spoken of a lot. It was even believed that his marriage with Ono might have been why the renowned Beatles band broke up.

The couple welcomed a son together, Sean, born in 1975. Sean grew up with a present father because Lennon decided to dedicate his time to his family and became a stay-at-home father. The star also shares Julian with his first wife, Cynthia.
Julian spoke about one of the last moments he shared with his father before he died. He remembered returning home after spending half the year at boarding school and playing one of the legend's last songs, "Starting Over," on the phone and Lennon started mixing the song

It was a special memory for Julian because his last encounter with his father was him happy and doing what he loved the most, music.
Julian said he was happy for his father getting backing into music and embracing a fresh start, but he wished to see him again soon.
Lennon pulled an unexpected move when he decided to hibernate and focus on being a full-time father. He disappeared from the public eye, and when asked why, he said he wanted to be a different father to Sean.

The "Let It Be" hitmaker confessed that he was not there for Julian's upbringing. He spent a lot of time on tour, and the next thing he knew, Julian was 17 years old, and most of their conversations happened on the phone.
So, he wanted to give Sean at least five years of consistency. The singer, his wife Ono, and their son lived in Upper West Side, New York, and staff from their apartment building remembered seeing Lennon happy.
He reportedly loved to play his piano which matched his all-white living room. Lennon's days also mostly revolved around Sean.
The singer woke up and first had tea; then, he would plan Sean's breakfast, talk to the people around him in the apartment building and continue thinking of his son's next meal. While he stayed home, his wife continued to pursue her artistic career.
However, Lennon was asked why he decided to step down from his music career, and the singer said he had stopped making music for himself.
Lennon realized that he catered more to the record companies than to himself, and Ono was the one to make him aware that he did not have to do it anymore.
Only then did it click to the singer that he was allowed to take a break and that the world would survive without a new John Lennon album.
Therefore, his last years were dedicated to a simple routine of caring for his son. He even called himself a "house husband" while his wife handled their businesses.
Lennon was also reportedly burnt out from the rock star life of sex and drugs, and when he decided to stay clean for 18 months away from his wife, he realized he wanted to be closer to Ono.

After spending a lot of quality time with his father, Sean has many special memories with Lennon. He said after his passing; he spent days watching one of their favorite movies, "La Planète Sauvage," a French Si-Fi film.
Sean also remembered a game he and Lennon used to play. He said his father would scribble something on a piece of paper and ask him to make a drawing out of it. It was one of Sean's favorite things to do, and to this day, he still plays whenever he's around children.

Another one of his favorite memory was when Lennon would tuck him in for the night. Sean said his father flicked the lights and harmonized with them, which made it look like they were in sync with his voice.

After five years of focusing on family and leading a private life, the Beatles got back together and released their album, "Double Fantasy."
