Matthew McConaughey’s Children ‘Cooked, Cleaned, & Served’ While Volunteering for a Good Cause
Camila Alves McConaughey, her children with Matthew McConaughey, and her mom spent time in the corner of France not necessarily in the tourist guides, Refettorio Paris.
In a video shared by her online community on April 13, 2023, Women of Today, Camila Alves McConaughey said, "It's a great experience; I think you get more than what you are giving."
"Every night should be a party!" is a refrain often heard by JR, an artist and the founder of Refettorio Paris. The exquisite fine dining restaurant unconditionally welcomes people in a "precarious situation," such as unaccompanied minors, refugees, students, or those living on the fringes of society.
The volunteer crew, led by Camila, "cooked, cleaned, and served a first-class dinner to people in need." Besides their enthusiasm, they brought a special banana bread recipe from the Women of Today to the non-profit.
One of the Brazilian model's sons is seen kneading dough in the video. Her mini-me daughter Vida Alves McConaughey helped plate the meals on designer plates with the image of hands reaching out.
Donating one's time to the organization that helps restore the dignity of so many is open to anyone willing. One can enquire about volunteer opportunities on the organization's website, and the stunning crockery is available for purchase.
Judging from the Women of Today (WOT) online portal, it is not a commercial lifestyle brand, like, for instance, Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop, though there is an Amazon link to purchase "Just Try One Bite," the children's book co-authored by Camila.
WOT's mandate is to create a collaborative community where women can share recipes and their inspirational stories.
Camila Alves McConaughey was inspired to begin the website, having experienced the community that naturally forms amongst women when they share expertise and cultivate friendships. She did not find the same support structures when returning to America.
"This site is not about me saying, 'hey, look at what I can do'; it is more of a look at what I have learned, and a look at what you have taught me, and the ways that you all have inspired me! It's a combination of all of your stories and your recipes and ideas!" she explains.
