Beverly D'Angelo is an American actress most famous for her roles in the "National Lampoon" franchise and for other titles like "Hair," "Violent Night," "Coal Miner's Daughter," and "Every Which Way but Loose."

While her acting career brought her a lot of fame, her personal life was a little more complicated, with her welcoming twins at 51. While that was challenging, she was also a single mother.

D'Angelo's career began long before she became a household name for her role in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." Her first role came almost ten years prior when she starred in the TV series "Captains and the Kings."

While her career was on the rise, she married Don Lorenzo Salviati. However, the couple had an understanding that they were each allowed to have other partners outside of their marriage.

The arrangement had never been a problem for the couple, but one day, D'Angelo met a man who would change everything for her. That man was legendary American actor Al Pacino.

D'Angelo liked the idea of having freedom but also having a husband. However, when she told Pacino about her marriage, he thought it was crazy and wanted to marry and have children with her.

When D'Angelo told her husband she had fallen in love with someone and wanted a divorce, Salviati couldn't believe it and asked who she had fallen in love with. And when D'Angelo said she had fallen in love with Al Pacino, her husband exclaimed:

"Al Pacino, he's fantastic. I love him. We divorce!"

After that, Salviati and D'Angelo had an uncontested divorce in which she said all they did was sign the papers and move on with their lives amicably. It was only after their divorce that Salviati's mother started liking D'Angelo.

How Did the Actress Become A Single Mom and Find Her "Ideal Partner?"

Three months after Pacino and D'Angelo first met, Pacino told the actress he wanted her to have his children. She had always had a fantasy that raising children would be done in a family setting and was charmed that Pacino seemed to want the same things.

The couple's whirlwind romance led to D'Angelo getting pregnant at 48 and giving birth to twins Anton and Olivia Pancino at 49. However, Pacino and D'Angelo's romance didn't last; by 51, D'Angelo was a single mother.

The split led to the couple being embroiled in a bitter custody battle, and D'Angelo said that in the process of getting pregnant, she tended to forget that she was raising children whose future was the most important thing.

Now, D'Angelo and Pacino are friendly and raising their children as co-parents, yet she says there had to be a lot of acceptance and forgiveness to reach such a pleasant place with her ex. Now, she does not rely on Pacino as a partner anymore, instead she shared:

"We all have a desire to change things that we don't like, but you can't change another person. You have to accept differences and all the things that led to a breakup in a way that allows you to move forward. And out of my support system and people I know and love, I've created the ideal partner."

D'Angelo can now look back on her time as Pacino's partner with fondness, and once said he had given her "the greatest gift" by giving her the twins she so badly wanted to bring into the world.

Pacino and D'Angelo's children are now 22 and support both their parents in their careers. Last year, the twins accompanied their mother to a red-carpet appearance for the premiere of her film "Violent Night."

D'Angelo loved the experience of having her children with her. She said they had often gone with their father for productions he was in, but it was the first time they got to go with her for her production. She said:

"We had the best time. Really, I haven't done a studio picture for a very, very long time. I was a very devoted mom. It was just great."

Olivia does not often enter the spotlight, but she has time to shine on social media. She usually posts selfies and is quite active on many sites. She also live streams on Twitch when she plays "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare."

While Olivia did not follow in her parents' show business footsteps, she is fearless in stepping out with them for special events. Her twin brother, Anton, is much more private; he doesn't even have social media.

On April 15, she shared a video of her garden because her fans had asked to see where she lived. As she walked around her property, she gave a little information about herself and how she was raised. In the video, she showed off her stunning looks and gray hair. Her fans loved it!

Although her career has slowed down dramatically in recent years, and she has more time to spend in her garden, where she is happiest, she still works on a few projects. Her most recent was the Christmas comedy "Violent Night."

D'Angelo assured her fans that her new movie is similar to the original Christmas movies she was involved in, and she shared:

"Here’s the thing about "Christmas Vacation" and “Violent Night." [I] don't want to give spoilers, but the bottom line is, love conquers all."

D'Angelo now believes she should write a memoir about everything she has experienced. She also said if her life were made into a movie and she could play herself, that would be her dream role. What an incredible woman!
