Chevy Chase prioritized his four children by refusing romantic roles.
Comedian Chevy Chase and his co-star Beverly D'Angelo are bringing the Griswold family back with another road trip comedy. On Saturday, December 10, the news was announced that nearly 40 years after the original "National Lampoon's Vacation" was released, another was finally in the works.
But fans are getting much more than only one more film. The franchise reportedly hopes to expand its repertoire by four more gems. Beverly posted a photo that hinted at the franchise's renewal, showing her and Chevy at the Steel City Comic Con in Pittsburgh, and captioned it, "Together again...".
Chevy and Beverly formed an endearing friendship when they first met for "National Lampoon's Vacation." The actress commented that she felt comfortable with Chevy from the start, and she could trust him as if he were family. Since then, the two actors have adored each other, and she's excited about the new films.
Although they were part of a heated custody battle, they soon realized it was more beneficial to work together as parents.

Funnily enough, Beverly didn't think the role would suit her when she first got the offer. Initially, she tried to turn it down and suggested another actress, but her agent insisted she read through the script and try it first. Luckily, she did.
Chevy Chase Refused to Kiss Others to Honor His Family of 4 Kids
Chevy and Beverly are both devoted parents, and Chevy started refusing roles in romantic films after he married his third wife, Jayni Luke, in 1982. The "Caddyshack" actor said Jayni had a life-changing influence over him, helping him put an end to his substance abuse issues. He also explained:
"Once I got married and had kids, I moved away from romantic roles because it seemed wrong to have my [daughters] wondering why Daddy was kissing someone else."

Chevy has four children in total. He shares three with Jayni, while his oldest, Bryan Perkins, came from a previous marriage. Bryan was born on October 24, 1979, but he prefers to keep his life as private as possible. In 1983, Chevy had his first child with Jayni, and they named her Cydney Cathalene Chase.
Cydney chose to follow her passion for music and regularly uploads clips of her performing on social media. She's married to Ryan Bartell. Like Cydney, Caley Leigh Chase also decided to follow a creative path. Chevy's third kid was born in January 1985, and she works as an actress.

Chevy's youngest, Emily Evelyn Chase, was born in September 1988. Emily chose a different route than her siblings but still enjoys being in the public eye. She uses social media as a platform to discuss socio-economic problems as well as show off her relationship with her dad.
Beverly D'Angelo Is Also a "Devoted" Mom of 2
After divorcing her first husband, Beverly started dating her ex-boyfriend, Al Pacino, in 1997. Although the two never got married, Beverly gave birth to twins at 49. Unfortunately, she and Al broke up two years later. She commented on their relationship afterward:
"The key thing is creating a new history, and moving on from whatever dissolved that relationship to the new one of co-parenting. The most important thing I've learned is how vital acceptance is."
Beverly's oldest child, Olivia Pacino, was born just before her twin brother on January 25, 2001. Although she stayed out of the public eye for a large part of her life, she recently started posting on social media quite often, sharing photos of herself with friends and on the road to new places.
Olivia is also found moderate success as a Twitch streamer playing the game "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare." Unlike his twin sister, Anton James Pacino enjoys keeping his private affairs precisely that. He prefers to stay off social media and has declined to attend most public events with his famous parents so far.

Beverly and her ex-partner maintained a good relationship after a heated custody battle. The actress took a step back from her career to focus on her children, saying, "I haven't done a studio picture for a very, very long time. I was a very devoted mom."
