Kevin Costner's Wife Is Leaving Him: Previous Divorce Cost Him $80M after Alleged 'Affair' with Dancer
- Kevin Costner's wife of 18 years is filing for divorce.
- This is not the actor's first divorce; he settled with his first ex-wife for $80 million.
- There were rumors that Costner had cheated on her with a Hawaiian dancer.
Kevin Costner, the star of numerous hit films and a number of widely popular TV shows, recently revealed he and his wife of 18 years were divorcing. According to sources, Kevin's wife, Christine Costner, filed for divorce on Monday, May 1, after the couple spent close to two decades together.
Although little is known about what led to the separation, Christine cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the unexpected annulment. A representative for Kevin spoke out about the divorce, confirming the once-couple is going separate ways, and asked the public to respect their privacy.

Kevin and Christine share three children, Grace Avery Costner, 12, Hayes Logan Costner, 14, and Cayden Wyatt Costner, 15. Although the two parents are separating, it seems they both want an amicable end to the relationship and have each filed for joint custody over their young ones.
The two were dead-set on making their marriage work, with Cindy going so far as to work with her husband on the acclaimed "Dances with Wolves."

Besides hoping to avoid a custody battle, the two are also avoiding a drawn-out legal suit about money. According to TMZ, Christine isn't filing for spousal support, and the couple apparently already has a prenuptial agreement in place, protecting Kevin from another lengthy and expensive divorce.
The "Yellowstone" star first found out how costly a divorce can be when he and his first wife, Cindy Silva, divorced after spending 16 years together. It seems Kevin wanted to avoid going through the same thing with his second wife, and they agreed to sign a prenup when they wed.

When Kevin and his college sweetheart Cindy divorced, the actor was at his height in Hollywood. This meant Cindy stood to make a considerable amount from him, and in the end, she walked away with an impressive $80 million, making their divorce one of the most expensive in history.
Why Did Kevin Costner Get Divorced the First Time?
Kevin and Cindy have known each other since they attended the same college. They were both enrolled at California State University at Fullerton, and Kevin recalled she was always radiant. Cindy even worked at Disneyland during summer breaks, playing one of the princesses.
The actor gushed that his first wife would always be dear to him, noting, "Through all the pain, Cindy's been what I always thought she was a real lady."

Kevin admires Cindy from the very start, recalling how brilliant and charming she was. The actor confessed, "She represented everything about women that I like." Over a while, they got to know each other and eventually decided to settle down together.
In 1978, the couple said their vows and had three children a few years later. The first was a daughter, Annie Costner — now 38. Two years later, Annie gained a little sister, the now-36-year-old Lily Costner. After two more years, Kevin and Cindy welcomed their boy, Joe Costner, now 34.

The two were dead-set on making their marriage work, with Cindy going so far as to work with her husband on the acclaimed "Dances with Wolves." Sadly, their efforts didn't pay off. Shortly after filming "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," rumors started circulating about Kevin's infidelity.
The rumors ultimately culminated in Kevin and Cindy's divorce. The two went their separate ways shortly after Kevin filmed "Waterworld" in Hawaii. During this time, many speculated that the actor was having an affair with the dancer Michele Amaral, and Cindy filed for divorce shortly after.

Although Kevin and Cindy went through with the divorce, the actor rejected all claims that he was unfaithful to his wife. He did take responsibility for the failure of his marriage, even though he denied the "affair" with Michele. The actor went on, saying:
"A series of events conspired to happen at the same time. I know it hurt some people that I had failed in my marriage. And the marriage was my own failure."
Kevin claimed he had never even spoken to Michele on the phone. The "Field of Dreams" star was also linked to two other women but dismissed the allegations that he had had affairs with them as well. He did go on to confess that the rumors and stories had taken a toll on his marriage and had placed his children in uncomfortable positions.
He went on to say that he still had a deep love and admiration for Cindy despite the fact that they had gone their separate ways. The actor gushed that his first wife would always be dear to him, noting, "Through all the pain, Cindy's been what I always thought she was a real lady. I still have love for Cindy."
The pair finalized their divorce in 1994 and released a statement saying they had come to an agreement regarding finances and guardianship of their three children. However, Kevin and Cindy seemed to have parted on reasonably friendly terms.
What Is Cindy Silva Doing Now?
In 1996, Kevin met his second wife, Christine, and the two married at his house in Aspen, Colorado. Likewise, Cindy moved on with her life, marrying the Dogwood Investment Company Inc. Registered Agent, Larry Ameen. Cindy has since changed her last name to her current husband's.
She has kept her private life to herself, making her social media accounts largely private, although she does share pictures of her family on Facebook. She registered herself on social media as Cindy Antonucci-Ameen.
While Kevin's second marriage sadly didn't work out, Cindy and her current husband are living in Montecito, California, where they spend much of their time with their ever-growing family, judging by her social media. She adores her grandkids and often posts pictures of her, her husband, and one of the little ones on Facebook. Cindy also uses her Facebook profile for activism.
