The daughter of internet personality Allison Kimmey, a bold and audacious 5-year-old girl named Cambelle Kimmey, stood up to bullies in a way that most would not expect a 5-year-old to respond. The little girl quite confidently proceeded to dismiss her bullies who called her "fat" with a clever retort.

On March 20, 2017, a little girl named Cambelle was enjoying some poolside fun with her mother, Allison Kimmey. While lying next to her mother, little Cambelle found herself staring at her mother's protruding belly.

The curious little girl asked her mother why her tummy looked big, to which her mother asked for clarification on what she meant. Little Cambelle proceeded to point directly to her mother's stretch marks and confirmed that she was referring to the deep-set lines across her mother's stomach.

When Cambelle's mother responded to her child by calling the lines stretch marks, the little girl asked where stretch marks come from. Kimmey explained:

"Well, when I was a little older than you, I got some stripes when I grew really fast! And some of these stripes are from when I had you growing in my tummy."

The little girl looked on inquisitively, and her mother proceeded to ask her if she thought the lines were pretty and Cambelle agreed. She thought they were pretty and proceeded to ask when she would get stripes of her own.

Allison Kimmey Has an Important Chat with Her Daughter

Months later, little Cambelle called her mom fat after Kimmey instructed her and her brother to get out of their pool. Kimmey sat both her daughter and son down for a serious chat.

At first, Kimmey made her daughter repeat the harsh name she had called her, and Cambelle responded by repeating what she had said and saying sorry afterward. Kimmey then explained to her daughter why what she said was wrong:

"The truth is, I am not fat [and] no one IS fat [because] it's not something you can BE [but] I do HAVE fat. We ALL have fat. It protects our muscles and our bones and keeps our bodies going by providing us energy."

Once Kimmey was done, she asked her daughter if she had any fat. Little Cambelle responded that she, in fact, did, on her tummy, and her mom reassured her that everybody does, even her brother. The internet personality added:

"Some people have a lot [of fat], and others don't have very much. But that doesn't mean that one person is better than the other. Do you both understand?"

Both Cambelle and her brother assured their mother that they understood the lesson she was trying to teach them about the dangers of being derogatory. The children retorted in unison:

"[We] shouldn't say someone is fat because you can't be just fat, but everyone HAS fat, and it's okay to have different fat."

Kimmey ended the story she shared in an Instagram post by pointing out the importance of people teaching their children self-acceptance. She made a point to say that for parents, it is crucial to be the consistent voice of reason when their kids are being fed negative narratives.

Little Cambelle Is Mocked for Her Fat Tummy

A few months later, in August, after the essential dialogue between Cambelle and her mom, Kimmey shared an update with fans that her daughter had been called fat by bullies at school. At an extra-curricular practice event at school, little Cambelle's T-shirt started to raise slightly as she exercised. Another little girl had nastily pointed to Cambelle's stomach and said her belly was fat.

Kimmey refrained from immediately going into mama-bear mode and filing a complaint and instead asked her little girl how she responded. To her surprise, little Cambelle quite confidently let the mean girl know:

"I told her that I'm not fat. I HAVE fat. And everybody has fat [and I also] told her it's okay to have fat."

Kimmey was a super proud mother when she heard her daughter stand up for herself and commended her for doing so. The mama bear explained that the word fat does not necessarily equate to meaning something terrible, and she pointed out that she didn't think the other little girl was being intentionally malicious.

She asked if the little girl had said anything back after Cambelle's response. Little Cambelle said she had nothing to say back apart from giving a lackluster 'Oh okay.'
