Marlo Thomas Says Husband Phil Donahue Is ‘Sooo Handsome’ in Photo & Fans Say He ‘Never Ages’

Marlo Thomas couldn't help but fawn over her longtime husband, Phil Donahue when she shared a recent photo of him. With his dashing looks, fans once wondered if he underwent plastic surgery.

The actress recently boasted of her husband's good looks on Instagram when she uploaded a snap of a gray-haired Donahue flanked by her friends. She captioned the post, "Here's my hubby with two of his pals, Steven & Eric. Isn't he just sooo handsome!"

Donahue raised a hand and made a peace sign while rocking a dark blue hoodie. His mesmerizing blue eyes shone as he smiled at the camera.

The "That Girl" star revealed that some people once accused Donahue of getting plastic surgery, but she promptly debunked the claim. She said, "People think if you look well, you have to have had plastic surgery — and that's not true. But even if you did want to — go ahead!"

The couple of 43 years withstood the test of time as they still go on dates. Last month, they watched a musical by Neil Diamond with their friends. They also made it a point to dress up whenever they celebrate special occasions, like their wedding anniversary.

Donahue and Thomas first met when she guested on his show, then "something chemical happened." She called their meet-cute a love at first sight as they flirted throughout the hour-long segment. "Before you know it, we're a real-life couple," he shared.

Despite being used to being under the spotlight, the couple decided to keep their relationship private and backed off from the overwhelming media attention.

For the stepmother of five, their marriage had been a nutritious part of her being. Their constant communication, as well as enjoying mundane activities like cooking and walking together, became a significant part of Marlo Thomas' life. Both of them are now in their 80s. But Thomas said age never became a big deal. Instead, with it came knowledge. Without the usual anxiety she had when she was younger, the actress said she's just "having fun" in life now.
