Shelton Gets Candid about the Early Stages of His Relationship with Stefani
Shelton and Stefani met while working on "The Voice" in 2015 and instantly fell head over heels for each other following their divorces. Shelton was previously married to Miranda Lambert, while Stefani was married to Rossdale before they became an item.
The Hollywood couple dated for five years before Shelton asked the No Doubt singer to marry him in October 2020. He announced the news on his Instagram alongside a photo of the lovebirds kissing after his proposal. Stefani also shared the sweet moment on her Instagram alongside a ring emoji.
Two years before the proposal, Shelton revealed his initial friendship with the pop star helped him overcome his painful divorce after his four-year marriage ended.
In a June 2018 interview, he stated it was a "miracle" that they crossed paths when they were both reeling from the dissolution of their respective marriages. In hindsight, they both believed their romance was a "rebound." However, time proved otherwise.
