Tatyana McCall Is an 'Intelligent' Woman – Facts about Ray Lewis III's Mother

Ray Lewis III had a successful career in football, although cut short by his tragic passing. Like him, Ray III's parents, Ray Lewis and Tatyana McCall, are also accomplished in their fields. While the older Lewis shares the same interest in football as his son, Tatyana successfully manages her own company.

Football star Ray Lewis III recently passed away for reasons not disclosed to the public. He was born to Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis and businesswoman Tatyana McCall. However, his parents are no longer a couple.

Like many mothers of successful athletes, she is very proud of her son's achievements at a young age. Like her son, she is also an accomplished woman who is goal-oriented, determined, and hard-working.

Tatyana McCall Is Ray Lewis III's Successful Mother

Tatyana McCall is an intelligent woman who succeeded in academics at a young age. At 16, she graduated high school with no grade lower than a B, setting a standard for her children to follow. Her son once said:

"She's very intelligent and one of the brightest people I know."

After graduating from Lyman High, Tatyana received her college education at the University of Phoenix, graduating with a degree in BS Management. In 2001, she pursued an MBA in Management and Marketing at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.

After a decade of working and starting McCall Diversified Enterprises, a consulting and event management services firm, Tatyana received her doctorate at Walden University.

Besides being a business owner, she became a University of Phoenix professor, a Virtual Learning Lab Coordinator at Orange County Public Schools, and a Sr. Principal of Public Relations at Northrop Grumman.

Tatyana McCall Wasn't Always on Good Terms with Her Son's Father

On several occasions, Tatyana spoke wonderfully of her son's father, Ray, praising him for his determination and drive to succeed. However, the two are no longer a couple. The pair met at the University of Miami and had three boys together. Unfortunately, their life together wasn't always wonderful. In 1994, she reported her then-fiancee for physical assault but did not file charges.

Ray faced a few more accusations of physical assault from other women from an altercation. But again, charges never pushed through. Although their relationship didn't work out, Tatyana and Ray maintained an excellent co-parenting relationship. They also remained grateful for the two decades they spent together.

Ray Lewis III Had a Good Relationship with His Mom

Tatyana supported her son in his pursuits and was vocal about being proud of the athlete. She saw passion and determination in her son whenever he played on the field. "He's an overachiever, and he has the strength of both Ray and me in terms of the tenacity and the work ethic and the discipline," she said.

Besides Ray III, her other sons are Rayshad and Rahsaan. Following Ray III's death, his younger brother Rahsaan shared a heartbreaking tribute, calling the athlete an angel. He also revealed that Ray III was hurting before his passing and, hopefully, is now at peace.

Like Ray III, soccer player Erling Haaland has a family that always cheers him on. Because of them, he has the guidance and the motivation to work hard in his career.
