During his marriage to Gerken, the actor was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer in 2016. He received treatment for his illness, including two surgeries, but he eventually fully recovered.

In 2019, the actor surprised his fans when he filed for divorce from his wife of 31 years. They reportedly did not end their relationship on good terms, and he filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Since 2011, Williams has lived in Ojai, California, after moving from Los Angeles. He even ran for mayor of Ojai in 2022 but failed to win against incumbent Mayor Betsy Stix.

The actor led the polls for the first couple of weeks until Stix caught up. She eventually won the election by just a slim margin.

Despite losing the election, Williams won the heart of one of his fellow Ojai residents. It was in the same town he found love again through real estate agent Sharon MaHarry.

Despite his challenges in the past couple of years, the actor got his happily ever after in May 2023. At 73, he married MaHarry in a ceremony with 150 guests present.

All About the Williams-MaHarry Wedding

Williams wore a crisp black suit for his wedding day, accessorizing it with a boutonniere and a pair of black eyeglasses. Meanwhile, his bride wore an off-the-rack $864 dress from Mac Duggal and kept her blonde locks away from her face with a stylish clip.

The wedding took place on May 6, 2023, in Ojai. They had 150 guests in attendance at the ceremony in Williams' backyard.

One of the guests in attendance was Williams' co-star, Don Most. They have been friends for five decades, and during the most important day in Williams' life, Most was there as his best man.

Most did a great job with his role. When Williams realized shortly before the ceremony that his dress shirt wouldn't fit him, his co-star unpacked his suitcase and found one that fit just right.

It was a special day filled with love and genuine happiness. Speaking about the guests in attendance, Williams said:

"What surprised me most was the strong connection among everyone there. I have never seen so many smiling faces."

The guests listened to a musician sing a song while the bride walked to her groom down the aisle, watched as the couple exchanged vows, and heard as Williams recited a poem he wrote for his new wife.

Like Williams' successful career, MaHarry is an accomplished woman as well. She has a stellar track record as a real estate agent and is also an author.

"It's such a joy to have someone who inspires you so much," Williams gushed. He is delighted to be starting a new chapter in his life, including the love of his life.

Aside from being a broker for the past two decades, she worked as a Senior Vice President for an advertising agency in New York.

The actor constantly shared updates with his friends on social media throughout their wedding season. He had one central theme in all these posts: that it was "never too late to get it right," also saying it was "never too late for love."
