Despite a successful acting career, Benson revealed in an interview that he initially dabbled in another adult-content space called Patreon for six months before creating an account in OnlyFans.

As a newcomer to OnlyFans, Benson said he turned to Kaili Thorne, his close friend and actress Bella Thorne's sister, for guidance on navigating the platform as a straight male entertainer.

Benson's OnlyFans content has attracted quite a number of gay subscribers. He often ponders why they have chosen to follow him, considering his focus on creating content that appeals to a diverse audience. This situation never bothered him, though. He said:

"I'm comfortable with my sexuality. I have a ton of gay friends, I've been immersed in the culture for a long time, so [the attraction] never bothered me, the way it might other straight men in that way. I lean into it."

Capitalizing on his newfound popularity within the gay community, Benson is committed to making a meaningful impact. He wholeheartedly strives to be an advocate for gay and transgender rights.

Benson admitted that meeting women "affected things."

In 2022, he used his platform to raise over $60,000 for the Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to aiding at-risk LGBTQ+ youth. This initiative deeply resonated with him and reinforced his belief that he was heading on the right path.

As for his family, Benson said they have been supportive of him. As for his friends, Benson recently re-connected with his "Wizards of Waverly Place" co-star Jennifer Stone, who expressed happiness for his newfound fame.

Benson and Stone reportedly dated in 2009, but it's unclear how both actors parted ways. Stone played Harper Finkle in the series alongside a talented cast, including Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin, and Cole Sprouse.
