In June 2023, the comedy-drama series "Glamorous" debuted on screens worldwide on Netflix. It follows the story of a young gender non-conforming man, Marco, who makes a living as an influencer.

When first introduced to viewers, Marco is at a point in his life where he feels stuck. However, things turn around for the better when he books a job as a make-up artist for a prestigious brand.

And so begins a glamorous adventure, where his career not only flourishes, but he grows in many aspects, including love. Actor Miss Benny plays the captivating Marco, who soon embarks on a beautiful onscreen romance with Parker.

Parker is an openly gay "self-proclaimed jock," played by none other than Graham Parkhurst. Like many queer characters lately, Parker is a well-rounded individual whose sexuality is only one part of his being, as Parkhurst said:

"What I love about the role of Parker is that he isn't a caricature. He's just a normal, low-key guy who happens to be gay."

Graham Parkhurst Was 'Fully Terrified' When He Read the Character Description for Parker in 'Glamorous'

The description of Parkhurst's character in "Glamorous" said he said he symbolized "gay male perfection." The young star admitted he laughed when he first read it and wished whoever booked the role "Godspeed."

"I was half thrilled and fully terrified. A character description like that can be seen as a setup for ridicule," Parkhurst admitted. Still, he added that the series did a "great job" at focusing on the connections between the characters.

Graham Parkhurst's First Crush Was an Animated Character

Shortly after "Glamorous" was released, Parkhurst sat down with Queerty to discuss the show and coming to terms with his sexuality. Although Parkhurst didn't specify when he realized he was gay, he said his first male crush was Aladdin from the eponymous animated film.

Parkhurst didn't accept his sexuality until college, but when he finally did, he also found love with the person who indirectly eased his fears. His first boyfriend was his roommate, who constantly played Jay Brannan's "goddamn" album when they were freshmen. The actor said he considered the record a significant and integral part of his coming out.

Graham Parkhurst's Dating Life Is under Wraps

At the time of writing, Parkhurst's Instagram page and other social media showed no signs of a current romance. His timeline was mostly filled with work-related content. But besides his dating life, his career shows great promise.

Before "Glamorous," which also stars Kim Cattrall, Parkhurst had previously appeared in "The Umbrella Academy" with Robert Sheehan and Elliot Page. He also had a brief role in "Star Trek: Strange Worlds," opposite Anson Mount, and another in "Titans," alongside Brenton Thwaites.
