After a gruesome divorce from his ex-wife, Cage was rarely seen smiling in public. This all changed when he met Riko Sibata, the woman who changed the course of his life forever.

It was surprising for many to discover that Nicolas Cage became a dad for the third time at 58 when his then 27-year-old partner Riko Shibata gave birth to their daughter. August Francesca Coppola Cage was born in Los Angeles on September 7, 2022.

Before welcoming August, Cage was already a dad to two sons: Weston Coppola Cage, with actress Christina Fulton, and Kal-El Coppola Cage, whom he shares with ex-wife Alice Kim.

Cage met Shibata through mutual friends in Japan, and they tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2021 after getting engaged through FaceTime in 2020.

Speaking about their online engagement, Cage, at the time, told his girlfriend that he wanted to marry her. He customized a black diamond ring for his girlfriend, which he had mailed to Japan amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The thoughtful ring was customized to Shibata's liking. Her favorite color is black, and she wanted black gold as well.

Living in an Eccentric Family Home

The Cage family lives in a Gothic Las Vegas mansion that he's worked hard for through the years. The actor and his wife share the same eccentric taste, with Shibata liking everything black.

Their home reflects their unique personalities, and so do their pets. They keep an African Crow in their living room, a gray cat, and a black dragon.

Cage's black dragon is actually a monitor lizard. He keeps his pet in a locked wooden enclosure with a glass panel.

The animal enthusiast was delighted to speak about his monitor lizard. "He'll get to be about 6 feet long. He's like having a real dinosaur in your house," he said.

Cage also has a sea turtle inside an aquarium, a pool table, and a jukebox. His African Crow, named Hoogan, lives in a mesh, dome-shaped enclosure inside their living room.

The actor was admittedly millions in debt at one point in his life after the real estate market crashed.

Besides his home, the "National Treasure" star also showed off his new gold Lamborghini. The car is a tribute to the 1968 film by Federico Fellini.

While watching the Fellini movie, Cage was inspired and ultimately fell in love with the car. Initially, he wanted a Ferrari, but the car manufacturer usually made something other than gold cars.

With an extensive filmography of over 100 films, Cage has worked hard for the assets he currently owns. However, the actor was admittedly millions in debt at one point in his life after the real estate market crashed.

Despite all the many roles he's played, Cage puts importance on each one. His work has been his guardian angel through the years, getting him through that dark period.

On Being a New Dad at 58

When Cage's wife gave birth, he couldn't contain his excitement about being a girl dad for the first time. "I'm thrilled," the actor said. "It's gonna be the biggest adventure of my life."

His daughter August, whom he calls Auggie, is already singing, and her dad couldn't be any more proud. During the premiere of his film "Renfield," Cage was proud to say that her song consisted of baby babbling.

"Reliving the experience of childhood brings it all back, and seeing how she's discovering new experiences."

The actor does his daddy duties well and has been spotted carrying his little girl through JFK airport in New York. Cage was all smiles in a yellow jacket while his wife walked beside him in her signature black look.
