Michelle Pfeiffer is a Hollywood veteran star whose prominence to fame made her feel uneasy, especially in the presence of paparazzi and the press.

In a June 2007 article from Good Housekeeping, she was described as fearful amidst a crowd. Despite her good looks, she still gave off the energy of a small-town girl who was nervous about being in the limelight and adjusting to life as a famous person.

Regardless of her celebrity status, Pfeiffer remains a private person, especially when it comes to her personal life. In a June 2007 interview, she revealed:

"There have been people in my life who have told me I have to put myself out there more. But it's so hard for me to do that."

At that point, Pfeiffer was raising her two children in the countryside, away from the prying eyes of Hollywood. The actress has a daughter named Claudia and a son named John, whom she shares with her beloved husband, writer David Kelley.

The couple moved to a rural corner of California during that period so they could provide their brood with some normalcy away from Los Angeles.

They had animals on their property, which included a cat, three dogs, horses, and a pair of miniature monkeys. Even at that stage in her life, the mother of two was still unimpressed with what comes with being famous.

The "Scarface" star once stopped working for a while and said it had everything to do with prioritizing her family. Things became so challenging that some people found it difficult to hire Pfeiffer because of how fussy she became with roles.

Meanwhile, she eventually found it easier not to work most of the time. When asked during a January 2021 interview whether she missed filming while on a break, Pfeiffer said:

"Not at all, actually."

This is because she and her husband and kids had uprooted to another city, making the moving process much more challenging than anticipated. They did not know anyone there and had to settle in, which took longer than expected.

The mother of two explained raising her offspring was also time-consuming, and before she knew it, "three and a half years had gone by, and then it was five years." Afterward, she started desiring to go back to work after thinking about it a lot, and her children supported her decision to return.

Pfeiffer Does Not Fuss about Her Physical Appearance

Although Pfeiffer, 65, keeps her personal life to herself, she is still active on social media. She recently posted a photo of herself without makeup and captioned it, "Good morning."

The "Grease 2" star shared a selfie of her bare face while wearing a black sweater, smiling with her messy blonde hair and a pair of glasses.

Meanwhile, celebrities alike flooded her comments section, with supermodel Naomi Campbell writing, "Beautiful, inside and out." While actress Courteney Cox said, "Hahaha Gorgeous." In addition, the "Dangerous Minds" star's fans also assured her that she always looks breathtaking.

Who Is Pfeiffer's Husband Kelley?

Pfeiffer has walked down the aisle twice. Her first marriage was to fellow actor Peter Horton, with whom she was married from 1981 until 1988.

Five years after her union ended, the "Ant-Man" star met her now husband, Kelley, in early 1993. The pair were set up on a blind date and instantly developed a connection.

By then, Pfeiffer was already in the process of adopting her daughter Claudia. She and Kelley had only been a couple for two months when she brought her child home. Of the experience, the doting mom said:

"So, we had this child with us right away, and most people don't have that. But I really got to see [Kelley] in a situation that certainly would separate the boys from the men. Obviously, he really rose to the occasion."

Pfeiffer shared that seeing each other as parents before continuing with their newfound romance made things easier for them as an item. The California native added it was undoubtedly divine timing how she and her longtime love evolved in the early stages of their relationship.

The lovebirds wed on November 13, 1993, and Kelley officially adopted Claudia that year. He and his famous wife welcomed their son John a year later.

Kelley and Pfeiffer prefer to keep their kids away from the spotlight, including details of their romance under wraps.

Although not an actor, the father of two works in the same industry as his spouse. Kelley is a big-shot television writer who began his Hollywood career by writing a screenplay for a legal thriller which later turned into the 1987 movie, "From the Hip."

The Maine native, who previously worked as a lawyer, eventually left his corporate job and joined show business as a writer and then a head writer. In the preceding years, he has earned his strides as one of the most unmatched television writers and producers.

His work includes "The Practice," "Picket Fences," "Big Little Lies," "Big Sky," and "The Undoing," to mention a few. Kelley was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2014, earned 30 Emmy nominations, and won eleven in his 36-year career.

Besides his successful career, Kelley's marriage to Pfeiffer is also thriving. The pair have been married for nearly three decades and are still going strong. Pfeiffer gushed about her spouse in a 2012 interview:

"I got really lucky. I never take him for granted."

Pfeiffer has continually marked the couple's anniversaries on her Instagram over the years, and November 2022 was no exception. She posted a photo of the duo and captioned it:

"Happy Anniversary to David, my heart of 29 years."

When asked in a 2007 interview what life is like for her and her family up north, Pfeiffer said it is a relief that they do not feel obliged to attend public events.

The family of four had the opportunity to spend more time together as a unit because there were fewer distractions. "I really feel a huge release being up here," Pfeiffer admitted.
