In 2020, a Reddit user penned a brief reflection about Nina Dobrev's facial appearance on her last episode of "The Vampire Diaries." The user recalled how numerous people said they noticed visible differences on the actress's face at the time.

This person initially attributed the actress's facial changes to smoking, weight loss, aging, a "bad wig," and "bad eyebrows," but admitted they couldn't put their finger on it. Eventually, they learned of her alleged plastic surgery and "finally understood."

The Reddit user noted that Dobrev's eyelids had grown in size, and so had her eyes. They also quoted someone else's comment about Dobrev's facial appearance, "Someone commented 'nina went from sexy mysterious eyes to dead soulless eyes' and I couldn't agree more. (sic)"

In June 2020, plastic surgery YouTuber Lorry Hill — who has analyzed other celebrities, including Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Hailey Beiber — provided her analysis of Dobrev's facial changes.

Intending to lift "the veil of secrecy" and destigmatize plastic surgery, she argued that Dobrev invested $45,000 in rhinoplasty, a brow lift, cheek implants, a chin wing implant, and a lower blepharoplasty. Still, the actress has yet to respond to the allegations.
