Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen Sparked Dating Rumors from Their Comments on Instagram
In 2022, when Moroney and Wallen released their songs around the same time, fans quickly noted similarities in the lyrics. With the singers commenting on each other's page, dating rumors began circulating. Fans also pointed out that the shirt she wore on Instagram looked like Wallen's shirt.
In Wallen's "Tennesse Fan," he wrote, "I got the number one pick, blonde hair, red lips / Brought her over to the other side / A little deep south Delta Gamma / Done found a Smoky Mountain man / Yeah, she was raised Roll Tide 'til the day she died / But ever since that night, she's been a Tennessee fan."
In Moroney's "Tennesse Orange," she wrote, "He's got me doin' things I've never done / In Georgia, they'd call it a sin / I'm wearin' Tennessee orange for him." Fans immediately took her song as a response to Wallen's music.
During a recent interview, Moroney was asked if the Vols shirt she wore was Wallen's, to which she said yes. However, the singer dodged further questions about her rumored relationship and stood firm in her belief that it "was just a shirt." She confirmed that the shirt she was wearing was indeed Wallen's shirt in another interview, and the singer shared:
"I was honestly shocked that I even said that it was his shirt, but I guess since he had already confirmed it with the poster thing that he did, I was like, 'Sure, yeah, it's his shirt.'"

Following the release of "Tennesee Orange," Wallen heightened fans' speculation about a possible romance between him and Moroney when he released his song "Tennessee Fan."
However, in June, Moroney shared that there was nothing more to the rumors and that they made her "really uncomfortable." She said, "I'm not the kind of person that likes to talk about things like that." On the other hand, the singer admitted she was "glad" fans cared about her music.

Before Moroney set the record straight about her and Wallen's rumored romance, the singer had already revealed that he was "unattached." Wallen said:
"I had a girlfriend for a while. Not recently. That was the last one I had. I don't have anybody right now."
In July 2020, Wallen welcomed a son with his ex-girlfriend, Katie "KT" Smith. However, the former couple had already parted ways by the time their son, Indigo Wilder, was born. Morgan Wallen revealed his hands were full between raising a child, going on tour, and making music.
