‘I Miss My Mom’: Jamie Lee Curtis Celebrates Mom Janet Leigh’s Birthday in a Poignant Tribute

Jamie Lee Curtis remembered her mother, Janet Leigh, born Jeanette Helen Morrison, yesterday on what would have been her 96th birthday.

"I miss my mom." Jamie Lee Curtis wrote on June 6, 2023. "Happy Birthday, Jeanette Helen Morrison." Janet Leigh reverted to her stage name when she made her first film with MGM in 1947.

"She's looking at you from up there, and she's so proud," a fan wrote. "Oh man - I get it! So do I ♥," Mariska Hargitay commented. Her late mother is Jayne Mansfield.

"With her timeless movies, a part of her is still with you ♥," a second wrote, and a third comforted the actress, "As long as you remember them, they are never truly gone."

"Great actress, gorgeous woman, and surely a wonderful mother," an Instagram user praised. "How proud she had to be of her daughter Jamie Lee."

"Long time has gone. Love and misses," Jamie Lee wrote after visiting the graves of her mother and stepfather, Robert Brandt, earlier in the year. In December 2021, she marveled at her mother's legacy with her being on the cover of Variety.

Janet died on October 3, 2004, in her Beverly Hills home with her husband, Robert, and two daughters by her side. The 77-year-old had vasculitis.

The "Halloween" actress and her sister Kelly Curtis made an accordion-style card of their mother as a keepsake after an event to mark the 16th year of her death in late 2020.

"My mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories -- I just won an Oscar," Jamie Lee said at the end of her best supporting actress Oscars speech in 2023 for "Everything Everywhere All at Once."

Her dad Tony Curtis was nominated for "The Defiant Ones" in 1957, while Janet got a nod for her "Psycho" performance in 1961. Jamie Lee Curtis and Janet Leigh acted together in the horror "The Fog" in 1980.
