Here Are Your Favorite Celebrities Who Officially Joined Threads
Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg recently launched his new app, Threads, and within hours, millions of users had signed up. Among them are numerous celebrities and influencers; however, the tech billionaire might soon face legal action over his latest venture.
On July 5, 2023, Threads, the Instagram app, went live. Celebrities of all kinds, including those in entertainment and sports, signed up and have already shared their first few posts. The user count grows exponentially with each passing hour, as does the app's activity.
Before Threads launched, certain influencers and public figures had received early access. Although many expected them to have joined already, some familiar faces are still missing from Meta's new service. Nonetheless, the app is buzzing with excitement.

Billionaire actress and host Oprah Winfrey also joined Threads with a personal account, but her business accounts, Oprah Daily, Oprah's Book Club, and OWN TV, are also on the app. Major brands, including Netflix, Billboard, HBO, and NPR, can also be found on Threads.

Calling Threads a "copycat," the attorney alleged that through these employees, Meta had access to Twitter's "trade secrets."
Stephen showed his followers a clip from a recent golfing trip. Seth made a humorous observation of Threads, writing, "Be aware… 10 years from now when we look back these will always be your first few posts 🤣."
Francis has also shared many updates, including a post about finally meeting former pro basketballer Joakim Noah in person. Kingsley has amassed 97K followers on threads but has yet to share an update.
What Is Threads, an Instagram App?
Threads is a new Meta app developed by the Instagram team, used for "sharing text updates and joining public conversations." Each post can contain up to 500 characters and be accompanied by media, including links, photos, and videos up to five minutes long.
Users sign up using their pre-existing Instagram accounts. As of the morning of the app's launch, its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, shared that over 30 million people had joined. "Feels like the beginning of something special, but we've got a lot of work ahead to build out the app," he added.
So far, only six of the 20 most followed Instagram users are on Threads. The rest, including Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Selena Gomez, hadn't signed up. Unlike their older sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner have yet to join the Threads community.

Twitter Threatens Legal Action Against Meta over Threads
Soon after Threads went live, Alex Spiro addressed a letter to Mark, accusing Meta of hiring former Twitter employees to create a clone of Twitter. Calling Threads a "copycat," the attorney alleged that through these employees, Meta had access to Twitter's "trade secrets."
Additionally, he wrote that the company had used "other highly confidential information" from Twitter. After news of the potential legal action broke, Elon Musk tweeted, "Competition is fine, cheating is not." Meta declined to comment on the letter.
