Inside Melissa McCarthy’s Five Homes, One of Which People Can Rent
- Melissa McCarthy's husband fell for her before they officially met years later, married, and had two children.
- Ben Falcone and his wife have since amassed their fortune by buying several houses in the United States.
In June 2023, it was revealed that Melissa McCarthy was one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. Die-hard fans knew her as Sookie St. James from "Gilmore Girls" before becoming in demand and a well-known actress with high earnings.
Over the years, McCarthy has earned big payouts for starring in the 2010 show "Mike and Molly" and 2012's movie "Bridesmaids." In 2014, she was still appearing in her series, but the following year she featured in "Tammy" and "Spy."
That same year, she released her clothing line called Seven7. Then in 2016, the actress landed a role in the movie "Ghostbusters" followed by 2017's "Life of The Party," before appearing in "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" and "The Happytime Murders" the following year.
The years 2019 and 2020 saw McCarthy earning a whopping $25 million despite the COVID-19 pandemic! The star also featured in "The Little Mermaid," and part of the money she made was through the production company she co-owned with her husband, On the Day Productions.
Besides her acting and role as a businesswoman, McCarthy also earned large amounts of cash for endorsements, including a Super Bowl commercial for Booking.com and another one for Kia. The celebrity also invested in businesses with potential, like the Big Nose Kate whiskey company.
McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone, saw his then-future wife for the first time in the 1990s. She was a college freshman in Illinois and he was still in high school. The actor feared McCarthy because she was in her goth phase then. She wore a heavy cape in the middle of summer and her hair was blue.
Despite being "afraid" of her, Falcone instantly liked her, and destiny made them cross paths again in 1998 when they both signed up for the writing class, The Groundlings, at a Los Angeles theater.
This time, the actress became intrigued by Falcone when he performed a skit during the improv class, and they became friends after completing the course and eventually fell in love. On October 8, 2005, the couple married, and in 2007, they welcomed their first child. Their second arrived in 2010.
When McCarthy wasn't acting, running her business, investing in companies, being a loving mother, and an incredible wife to Falcone, she bought properties. The "Thunder Force" actress owns five million dollar homes around Los Angeles and Atlanta, and one of them is for lease.
Melissa's Manhattan Penthouse
In 2021, McCarthy and Falcone bought a New York City penthouse in Manhattan's Little Italy neighborhood. The asking price for the property was $7.35 million, and it boasts an area of 2,374 square feet, three bedrooms, and four bathrooms!
The penthouse, designed by Architect Morris Adjmi, sits on the seventh floor of The Grand Mulberry building. Adjmi developed and built the 20-unit building in 2020, with McCarthy's apartment boasting white oak floors and an open-plan design.
The home also has glass sliding doors, high ceilings, a wraparound terrace, and a city view. The entrance galley of the apartment has a keyed-access elevator and a snug den with plenty of bookshelves for the avid reader.
It also has a formal dining area, a great glass-lined room, and hanging light fixtures for decoration. The modern kitchen has brushed brass fixtures, white matte lacquer cabinets, slab countertops, an island, and expensive appliances.
The main bedroom has custom black metal-framed dual vanities, a luxe bath with heated floors, a bathtub, and a shower. The actress and her husband paid around $4,395 monthly for the home's maintenance. It has a doorman, a landscaped roof terrace, and a bike storage area.
Ben and Melissa's Toluca Lake Home
McCarthy's and her husband bought their three-bedroom house in Toluca Lake, California in 2009 for $780,000. The 2,167-square-foot residence boasts 2.5 bathrooms, and in 2018, the actress was renting it out for $10,000 monthly.
She and Falcone spent five years renovating the house, which features a main bedroom decorated with patterned wallpaper, a bathroom with a vintage bathtub, and a walk-in closet. The room also has a shower and marble countertops, while their guest bedrooms boast en-suite bathrooms.
The black-and-white kitchen has a marble center island and white cabinets, plus it opens up to a formal dining room with mustard floral wallpaper. French doors lead to the family living room, with a fireplace and bay window, couches, comfortable chairs, and a piano.
The house, built in 1939, also has hardwood floors throughout and is fully furnished for short-term rentals. Outside is a swimming pool, a dining and barbecue area, and a cabana.
The Couple's Second Home in Toluca Lake
In an enclave in Toluca Lake, McCarthy and her husband own a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom property, which they bought in November 2012 for $3.5 million before the price jumped to $5 million due to renovations. The Spanish colonial-style estate went through a multi-million dollar renovation.
It features an indoor grotto-style spa, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, a sauna, a tennis court, a guest house, and a barbecue area. The home sits on 8,656 square feet on a one-acre land, with the couple adding 3,000 square feet, plus an elevator.
The residence is less than a mile away from McCarthy's three-bedroom home. The house allegedly was previously owned by Alan Thicke and is hidden behind massive grounds, keeping the family safe with electric gates.
A few years after purchasing the home, the actress and her spouse decided it was time to acquire another residence. This time, the couple paid a little less than what they coughed out for the home that once belonged to Thicke.
Melissa's Farmhouse in Valley Village
In 2020, Falcone and his wife purchased their Valley Village, California farmhouse for $2.4 million, adding an extra $200,000 to the $2.2 million asking price. The approximately 2,800 square feet San Fernando Valley property holds four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
It features custom wall paneling, wide-plank hardwood floorboards, and an integrated speaker system that works throughout the house. The entrance was extended and opens to a powder and a laundry room which leads to open-plan living and entertainment areas.

A vaulted ceiling adds flare, while the dining room features simple wood paneling. The kitchen has an island snack bar, designer appliances, and two-toned wood cabinets, while the lounge has media equipment in built-in shelving.
Glass doors allow the family to retreat outside while guests can be accommodated in three bedrooms. Two bathrooms appear along the hallway just after the entrance hall, and the primary bedroom hides away in the back of the residence.
It has a glass slider that opens to the backyard, a marble-sheathed bathroom, a steam shower, a freestanding bathtub, and fitted walk-in closets.
The Atlanta Mansion Owned by Melissa and Ben
In 2018, McCarthy bought a new house outside the West Coast in Atlanta, Georgia, for $2.3 million. The 7,800-square-foot home built in 1960 sits on an acre lot and features six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The actress once confessed that she loved Los Angeles, but what she enjoyed about the South Coast was that the people were friendly, and you could talk to them while standing in a line.
In a previous interview, McCarthy revealed her morning routine, saying she wakes up at 4:30 a.m., irrespective of whether she is in Atlanta or Los Angeles.
