Keisha Morris's love story with Tupac Shakur begins in the New York club scene, where she approached the late rapper on the dance floor. As a celebrity making it big in hip-hop, he was constantly surrounded by women who fancied him.

Their relationship had challenges but grew strong; they consciously chose to be affectionate and care for one another. And despite their marriage ending, they remained good friends until Shakur died in 1996.

Keisha Morris Cared Deeply about Tupac Shakur

Morris met Shakur when he faced sexual abuse charges in the 1990s. She was aware of his situation, and on the night they met, she approached him again and said, "You have supporters out here, you know. I know you're going through a difficult time, and I wish everything well."

They met again a month later at another nightclub. Shakur remembered that conversation, telling Morris he'd been looking for her ever since. He invited her to his hotel room, but she refused, and they went on a few dates.

They exchanged numbers and contacted each other frequently. Morris appreciated that he would take her out without having to ask. He paid her surprise visits to her home and eventually moved in with her.

Keisha Morris Supported Tupac Shakur During His Trial

While Shakur built his career, Morris attended the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Shakur supported her studies, always encouraging her to aim for A's at school. Additionally, Morris worked as a camp counselor.

Part of her morning routine was leaving after waking Shakur and ensuring he ate. When his trial began, she opted not to accompany him but did her best to make her space a haven for the artist amid the negative press.

He was sentenced to four years in prison but only served ten months. During that time, he and Morris tied the knot. Morris was one of many people who supported Shakur while he was in prison, including Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jasmine Guy, and Mickey Rourke.

She helped him reach Suge Knight, who financially assisted the "Do for Love" rapper while jailed. She also took extra measures to ensure he was taken care of, though it sometimes became a hassle, as she shared:

"Remember, I was the one who basically stopped my life when he was in jail. I moved closer to him. I made sure I was on visits. I made sure he had packages. You can't just send a package to prison. [...] It was like my day revolved around him and what his needs were."

Keisha Morris's Marriage to Tupac Shakur Was Annulled

Morris's marriage to Shakur was annulled ten months after they tied the knot. By then, Morris, who dabbled in acting, felt Shakur had changed and drifted from her. She felt like she wasn't needed anymore and was hurt.

The press didn't make it easier, as they painted her in a derogatory light following their separation. Shakur still contacted her afterward, and from Morris's accounts, their connection seemed strong.

She struggled to accept he had passed when she heard the news of his tragic death. Before Morris, Shakur had been romantically involved with Madonna. Their relationship was only rumored until the singer confirmed it in 2015.
