Nolan Shannon Chestnut is one of veteran star Molly Shannon's two children. As a pre-teen, he was a sports fanatic, having participated in skateboarding and baseball. He has since upped the stakes.

Hollywood actress Molly Shannon is the wife of artist Fritz Chestnut, whom she married in May 2004. The couple welcomed their eldest child, a daughter, Stella Shannon Chestnut, on September 28, 2003.

On March 15, 2005, the couple's son Nolan Shannon Chestnut was born. During a "Today" show appearance in September 2016, Molly talked about her kids who loved her "Superstar" movie.

The actress, who has acted alongside Will Ferrell, Mark McKinney, Morgan Freeman, Elaine Hendrix, Florence Pugh, Wanda Sykes, and more, revealed that her then-12-year-old daughter Stella liked acting and theatre.

Meanwhile, her younger child, Nolan, then 11, was into skateboarding and baseball. The proud parent said: "I just feel so lucky getting to be a mom. It's just the greatest."

Nolan Shannon Chestnut Now Enjoys Surfing

Fritz passed down his love for skating and surfing when he was younger to his son, Nolan. In May 2021, Nolan posted a video of him on Instagram skating at El Sereno Park in Los Angeles, California. He captioned the post, "Made an edit with some old clips."

Although he initially showed more interest in skating, that changed following a trip to Hawaii, where his interest in surfing was revived. It is now an activity he and his beloved father enjoy doing together.

Nolan shared images and a video of him at Rocky Point Surf Break North Shore Oahu in April in Hawaii. One shot showed him posing with a surfboard, and a video in the carousel showed him in the water surfing.

Nolan's famous mother recently posted several images of the family's outing to Bali, Indonesia. One photo showed the mother-son-duo beaming at the camera while having lunch.

In another image in the carousel, Nolan was posing with his surfboard, and it seemed like he was heading to the beach. Molly penned on her Instagram post, "[…] Watching my son surf Uluwatu."

In addition to surfing and skating, Nolan also does somersaults. In November 2016, Molly posted a video of her son doing the acrobatic movement on a couch. "My son, Nolan!!" she wrote alongside a heart emoji.

Although some of her followers were fascinated by the youngster's efforts, some were not impressed, fearing he could have broken the couch or hurt his neck. Apart from partaking in the activities that he is good at, he is a student currently studying at the University of California, Santa Cruz, per his Instagram bio.

He also followed in his mother's acting footsteps. He is an actor best known for "Silent Shadows" and the comedy movie "Wild Nights with Emily," where he starred alongside his mom and sister.

How Nolan Shannon Chestnut Spends Time with His Family

Nolan spends quality time with his loved ones. His mother posted a snapshot of him and his sister and relatives while on a trip in August 2019. "Shannon Summer Special. My kids, Stella and Nolan, with their cousins and friends," the mother of two captioned the Instagram post, which showed the kids in a grassy area.

Molly appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in June 2015 and revealed she usually plays silly games with her son and daughter, such as "Truth or Dare."

She often encourages them to do pranks, adding her dad was silly with her, and that is how she is with her kids, too. The comedian, whose mom and sister died in a tragic accident when she was only four, opened up about motherhood in a November 2011 interview.

At the time, her children were eight and six, and when asked what the best part of her day was, Molly said it was driving her kids to school and making sure they settled in. Asked about the type of parent she is, the doting mom described herself as "Easygoing, happy, and a good listener," adding she tries her best to be an attentive parent.

One parenting rule Molly never breaks with her offspring is brushing their teeth every evening. When asked which one she always breaks, she answered, "Lots!"

The "Saturday Night Live" alum enjoys being a mother and revealed in a June 2022 interview that she rarely works as much as before because she cherishes devoting her time to her kids.

She said her priorities changed since becoming a parent. She was on "SNL," also hosted by Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey, from 1995 until 2001 and had her first child two years later.
