Faith Evans is an award-winning R&B artist best known for her powerful range of soprano and talent for songwriting. She is regarded as one of R&B's greatest musical artists of all time.

She was dubbed the First Lady of Bad Boy Records after being signed by Sean "Puffy" Combs in 1994. Since then, her life was never the same again after being caught in a rap rivalry involving Biggie and Tupac Shakur.

The tension between the famous hip-hop artists ended in tragedy, but Faith has since moved on and married two more times, although the unions ended in divorce.

Faith Evans' First High-Profile Marriage with Biggie Smalls

Faith met Biggie Smalls, born Christopher Wallace, in 1994 at a photoshoot for Bad Boy Records. The two were both up-and-coming artists at the time. Within eight days after the meeting, the young stars were married.

They wed on August 4 that year in Rockland County, upstate New York. She was 21, and he was 22 then. "It wasn't the most traditional way to start a life together," she penned in her 2008 memoir, "Keep the Faith." Meanwhile, in an interview, Biggie revealed what made him fall in love with her. He said:

"I never, ever met no girl like my wife. She talks to me like nobody else talked to me before. When I first saw her, she was killing me with those eyes. I rolled up to her and said, 'You're the type of girl I would marry.' She said, 'Why don't you?'"

The renowned rapper accepted the challenge, and he and Faith later welcomed their only child together, son Christopher Jordan Wallace in October 1996. When asked during an interview whether it was not too soon for him and Faith to have gotten married after only knowing each other for a few days, Biggie deflected instead but said he was "happy."

He later admitted they should have known each other before committing. Three years later, his marriage to Faith had hit rock bottom. They had been separated after Tupac claimed in a March 1996 interview that he had slept with the singer.

Moreover, there were reports that Biggie had been unfaithful to Evans following several infidelities, including a one-year affair with female rapper Lil Kim. He sadly died in May 1997 after being shot in Los Angeles.

The New York native was 24 years old when he passed. He and Faith were still legally married. On the 25th anniversary of his passing in May 2022, his former wife and son — an infant when he was fatally shot — remembered him.

Faith said in an interview, "I remember B.I.G. every day," adding she has a portrait of him in the foyer of her home which "is a huge part of this house." She disclosed their son had his famous dad's mannerisms, including allergies, as he did.

Faith Evans' Second Husband Is Todd Russaw

A year after her estranged husband died, Evans wed for the second time to Todd Russaw in 1998. Todd is a music executive and Think BiG Holdings INC/ Health & Wellness co-founder.

The couple welcomed two sons, Joshua and Ryder. Evans later revealed in a March 2021 interview that their son, Ryder, is autistic, disclosing she began noticing something wrong with his development when he was three.

He was not talking by that age, and she paid for him to receive speech and occupational therapy. The doting mom also found programs and schools for her son, including a behaviorist.

Meanwhile, she and his father did not work out. Faith filed for divorce from Todd in May 2011 in Los Angeles County, citing "irreconcilable differences." The pair had been married for nearly 14 years and reportedly had been separated since December 2005 — meaning their marriage had ended several years before she filed.

Faith Evans' Volatile Marriage with Third Husband – Stevie J

Seven years after her second marriage failed, Faith tried her luck at love again when she spontaneously wed her third husband, record producer and television personality Steven Aaron Jordan, popularly known as Stevie J. The two were friends for over twenty years through their work at Bad Boy Records.

However, that changed in 2016 when they became an item; still, they briefly split in 2017 but rekindled their romance. The then-lovebirds exchanged wedding vows in July 2018 in their hotel room in Las Vegas. Shortly after, they applied for their marriage license in Clark County.

That same month, the newlyweds were already talking about having kids together. Faith reportedly said it would be no issue for her new husband because he already has six children.

Seven months after getting married, Stevie J. candidly talked about the couple's sex life in a February 2019 interview, saying they had gone from having intercourse three times to five times a day. In addition, his newly wedded wife shared they had finally got their wedding rings and described them as "very simple."

Things became tricky in May 2020 after Faith was arrested for allegedly assaulting Stevie J. The couple had had a heated argument before things turned violent, and the DJ called the police to their LA home. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers reportedly noticed visible marks and scratches on his face.

Faith was apprehended and booked on felony domestic violence charges, though she later made bail. The following month in June 2020, charges against the Grammy Award winner were dropped. This came after the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office revealed they would not prosecute the songwriter because her spouse refused to testify against her.

In November 2021, Stevie J filed for divorce from Faith following three years of marriage. She asked the courts to deny him spousal support in December of that year. She also did not request to receive spousal support from him.

The "I'll Be Missing You" hitmaker also requested to keep her assets from before and since the union. Faith and Stevie J finalized their divorce in July 2023, nearly two years after their official split. However, details of their settlement agreement were kept private.
