Corinna Brown's Sexuality Is Unknown Though She Supports the LGBTQ+ Community
Corinna Brown portrays a gay character on Netflix's fast-approaching series, "Heartstopper," and the actress's sexuality has come into question. While it remains unknown, her acts of allyship for the LGBTQ community have been nothing short of remarkable.
In July 2022, during the London Pride Parade, anti-LGBTQ protesters attempted to hijack the event. Separated by barricades and local authorities, the "homophobes" shouted at the top of their lungs as the LGBTQ members and allies dominated the street, walking tall in their shared identity.
Among the latter groups were the "Heartstopper" cast members who marched alongside the LGBTQ community. The crew went viral on social media for dancing in front of the protesters as they shouted angrily.

"I Wanna Dance to With Somebody" by Whitney Houston boomed as paraders jumped and danced, donning various LGBTQ flags as their capes. Corinna Brown happily joined her co-stars, but her appearance at the London Pride Parade was only one of many of her acts of allyship.
Corinna Brown Plays Gay Teen in New Netflix Series
"Heartstoppers" season two is slated to debut on Netflix on August 3, 2023. The show follows friends Nick and Charlie, whose relationship slowly becomes more than platonic. Although their relationship is central to the story, "Heartstoppers" offers a broad spectrum of queer adolescent experiences.
Brown plays Tara Jones, who comes out as gay at the beginning of the first season. While speaking about the show's message and impact, she said, "It shows everyone, all young people, that love is okay, whatever age you are, let's not shy away from it."
She continued, "Queer love is okay, straight love is okay; it's all the emotions you go through at that stage," adding that "Heartstoppers" depicts this concept "brilliantly." The young star said she wished she had such a show as a teen.
Corinna Brown's Love Interest in 'Heartstoppers' Is Transgender
Brown's love interest in "Heartstoppers" is Darcy, Tara's first girlfriend. Darcy is played by non-binary actor Kizzy Edgell, who started their transgender journey in 2022. Edgell revealed this in a heartfelt farewell post to 2022 on New Year's Eve.
Revealing they had left university to pursue an acting career, the actor was excited for what 2023 had in store. After joining "Heartstoppers," they developed close relationships with their co-stars, often spending time with them and dedicating appreciation posts to them.
Corinna Brown Uplifting Young Pupils in the LGBTQ Community
In July 2023, Brown, alongside her co-star Tobie Donovan, attended the Just Like Us charity award ceremony. They were there to present Yewstock School and College with the Pride Group of The Year Award for the institution's unending efforts to make LGBTQ students feel safe and accepted.
Just Like Us is a youth charity that assists schools in forming Pride Groups to create safe spaces for LGBTQ pupils. Yewstock's Pride Group is the Rainbow Alliance, which holds weekly meetings where students discuss LGBT+ topics, read stories, do group activities, and more.
Brown's unapologetic allyship hasn't gone unnoticed, and she is among many celebrities who've also shown solidarity with this community, including Christopher Meloni, Dua Lipa, Rick Astley, Michaela Coel, and Cassian Bilton.
