Cassian Bilton Is Private about His Life in General
Cassian Bilton, known for his captivating acting skills and irresistible charisma on-screen, has kept his personal life and sexual orientation private. The actor prefers to share his works and other interests on social media.
Although Bilton's fans have been curious about his sexuality and personal life, his interests and an acting project have seemingly led them to speculate that he is gay.
Cassian Bilton Supports Queer-Centered Projects
In 2017, Bilton expressed delight on Twitter about the film "Call Me By Your Name." In the coming-of-age movie, actor Timothée Chalamet famously portrays a teenage boy with an unrequited romance with an older man, played by actor Armie Hammer.
Bilton also tweeted about the "Callisto" production, remarking on it as "fantastic." The show explores queer relationships throughout history. He watched the show three times and praised it for its exceptional writing and outstanding performances.
In 2018, Bilton shared on Instagram a photo featuring a theater building adorned with a sizable poster of the production "The Inheritance." The show held a special place in his heart, as it appeared to be his favorite. His caption read:
"Epic. Queer. Queerly epic. Epically queer."
The play tells the story of two men in their 30s who are in love with one another. Set in Manhattan, they navigate through life, thrive, and face challenges that arise in their relationship.
In addition to watching queer-themed films and production shows, Bilton enjoys reading books of the same theme. He once said that if he were a book, he would be the 2015 novel "Little Life."
The book, written by novelist Hanya Yanagihara, centers around the enduring friendship of four men, with elements of queer romance added to the narrative. Bilton said, "I see a lot of myself in it, especially the qualities in their character."
Bilton exposing himself to the world of queer romance and drama doesn't automatically mean he is gay, as some fans have assumed. He is simply a supporter of queer-centered projects.
He is among celebrities such as Michaela Coel, Adam DeVine, Dan Benson, and Sebastian Croft, who have been questioned about their sexuality but are supporters of the LGBTQ+ community.
Cassian Bilton's Rise to Stardom
Bilton burst into Hollywood when he debuted his acting in the acclaimed short film "The Devil's Harmony." His other short films are "Shoal" and "A Battle in Waterloo."
He is also a breakout star in the Apple TV series, "Foundation." The actor has also conquered the stage multiple times, and one of his notable performances is playing Romeo in the production "Romeo and Juliet."
When he prepared for his role as Romeo, Bilton said he watched different versions of characters like Romeo and took inspiration from them. However, he has never seen the play as one of the greatest love stories.
He also believed that acting involved borrowing ideas from others. However, the rising actor also stresses the importance of trusting the script and its direction instead of relying solely on preconceived notions of the character.
Regarding his thoughts on Romeo and Juliet's characters, he highlighted that the popular perception of the teenage protagonists tends to overlook their mental health struggles.
