Zoe Terakes' Partner: The Actor Once Posted Intimate Photos with Kath Ebbs
Zoe Terakes is among many emerging queer entertainers in the TV and film industry, and their talent is steadily gaining recognition. Since portraying an imprisoned transgender boyfriend onscreen, fans are curious about the non-binary actors' love life.
In 2021, Zoe Terakes spoke about their role, or rather its end, on the Australian crime series "Wentworth." There, they played Reb Keane, a transgender man romantically involved with Lou Kelly, played by actress Kate Box.
Reb Keane and Lou Kelly landed in prison after a robbery went wrong. Despite the challenges that arose while jailed, the couple stayed close. Zoe Terakes and Kate Box's appearances on the show ended in mid-2021, and while the pair was proud of their work, they were devastated to leave.
"I had a really massive cry on the plane. It really rattled me. This has been the hardest goodbye I've ever had for a job," Terakes admitted, while Box also said she wasn't ready to leave her character. Although this onscreen romance had ended, Terakes' love life offscreen seemed to bloom at the time.
Zoe Terakes' Partner: Kath Ebbs Appeared Frequently on The Actor's Timeline
Among Kath Ebb's earliest appearances on Terakes' socials is a June 2020 post. It was a photo depicting the two leaving a light peck on each other's lips and showing off their matching tattoos. Terakes captioned, "proud every day with u @kathebbss."
In August of that year, Terakes shared another photo of themself and Ebbs enjoying a day at the beach. More appreciation posts followed, including one of the pair kissing in what appears to be a kitchen. They also spent 2021's New Year's Day at Bondi Beach in Australia.
"New year with my big wild love @kathebbss [...]," Terakes captioned and followed with another romantic picture of themself and Ebbs snuggling a few days later.
Zoe Terakes and Kath Ebbs' Relationship Status Is Currently a Mystery
In February 2021, Ebbs invited Terakes for an interview on her show "Conversations with Kath," where they discussed Terakes' career and experience as a non-binary trans guy (they use they/he pronouns).
It was the second interview they'd appeared for together, the first being with Teva in January 2020. The timeline of Ebbs and Terakes' relationship is unclear, but Ebbs hasn't appeared on Terakes' socials since early 2021. The two never spoke publicly about their relationship.
Teva described them as partners, but it's unclear if they still are. In January 2023, Ebbs posted a birthday tribute to a lady named Ella Lawry. "Happy birthday to my favorite Aquarius! I love you!" she wrote, alongside a clip of herself and Lawry kissing on a beach.
Two months later, Ebbs and Lawry attended a Pride March, where Ebbs kissed another of her friends, though it seemed more of an act of affection. The same might be presumed regarding the birthday tribute mentioned above.
Zoe Terakes' Onscreen Romance with Kate Box
Terakes and Box's chemistry onscreen stemmed from an already-existing friendship. They met in 2017 while Terakes struggled to navigate the entertainment industry as a member of the LGBTQ community.
Their relationship began as "this weird friendship/mentorship thing," as Terakes described, but it deepened into a close friendship. Regarding their romance in "Wentworth," Terakes noted, "We have a chemistry that comes naturally."
"It made us feel really safe, because we didn't have to work on the epic-ness of Reb and Lou's love story. It came for free… and that doesn't happen very often.," they continued. Terakes described Box as their best friend and felt honored to have had the privilege of working with her.
The young star stayed busy after "Wentworth." The same year they left the show, they starred on Hulu's "Nine Perfect Strangers" alongside Melissa McCarthy, Nicole Kidman, and Luke Evans. Terakes also appeared in the horror flick "Talk to Me," opposite the Ivorian-Australian actress Sophie Wilde.
