Fans Worry over Joshua Bassett Being Baptized at a Church Reportedly Known for Anti-LGBTQ+
Joshua Bassett's coming out has been inspiring for many. However, he has found himself in a complex situation after recently being baptized as a Christian at the Bethel megachurch in Redding, California.
On how Bassett found solace and peace in the religion again, he shared that he grew up Christian but "ran the other in search of truth." This led to negative experiences like addiction, depression, suicidal thoughts, and eating disorders.
While some fans are happy about Bassett's reignited faith, some expressed concern for Bassett because the church was reportedly known for its controversial stance on LGBTQ+ matters, particularly its anti-gay and pro-conversion-therapy teachings.

Joshua Bassett Chose Privacy after Alleged Love Triangle with Two Female Musicians
From revealing his part in the LGBTQ+ community to rekindling his religious upbringing, Joshua Bassett is no stranger to being the talk of the town. Bassett was also notable for his reported love triangle with Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter.
Rodrigo and Bassett are co-stars in "HSMTMTS," inspired by its original series, starred by Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, and Ashley Tisdale. Rodrigo and Bassett's connection and chemistry have garnered a dedicated fan base.
However, Bassett and Rodrigo's relationship reportedly broke down when Rodrigo released her hit song "Drivers License," fans speculated about her breakup with Bassett, leading to online rumors about their relationship.
Rodrigo mentioned a "blonde girl" in her song, leading her fans to think a third party was involved. What also fueled fans' theories was Joshua's release of his own single, "Lie Lie Lie," as a response to his co-star's track.
Things got even more complicated when Carpenter released her song "Skin," and the Rodrigo-Bassett fandom theorized that Carpenter might be the girl Rodrigo was referring to.
Fans also believed that Carpenter's song was a direct response to Rodrigo's hit track. Based on Carpenter's lyrics, which include the line, "Maybe blonde was the only rhyme."
Despite the media's attempts to make him discuss the rumors, Basset denied them and has chosen to remain silent and supportive of Olivia. He also encouraged them to "focus on the art" of the young women rather than their relationships with him.
Since then, Bassett has maintained a private stance on his dating life and chooses not to share details about his love life on social media.
