Glimpse at Al Roker’s 1st Granddaughter Sky’s Nursery Where She Had Nap Time in Grandpa’s Arms

Earlier this year, Al Roker, best known for his current role as the weather anchor on the "Today" show, became a grandfather for the first time at 68. His daughter, Courtney Roker, and her husband, Wesley Laga, welcomed baby Sky Clara Laga on July 3.

Recently, pictures of Sky and her nursery surfaced on Courtney and Al's social media accounts as well as other media outlets. The images show an adorable and beautifully decorated room fit for a little princess.

In the images, soft colors, including baby pinks and whites, fill the space, from the plush rugs to her baby accessories. One photo shows Sky's doting dad, Wesley, standing by a section of her room where one can spot a neutral-colored changing table and cabinets presumably holding baby care products.

In that same picture, the family's house cat makes an appearance as it reaches up to get a glimpse of what Wesley is working on. Next to the changing table stands two black bookcases on either side filled with baby books and toys.

Another picture shows Sky lying in her dad's arms as he looks at the camera. Further down the catalog, Wesley and Sky appear in matching attire, with Sky rocking a cute onesie that reads: Assistant to the Regional Manager.

Her dad's T-shirt has a similar print that reads: Regional Manager, both referring to the popular U.S show "The Office." Last but certainly not least comes an endearing picture of loving Grandpa Al sweetly holding Sky as she takes a nap in his arms.

When it came to naming her, Al said there was no particular reason why Sky's parents chose that to be her first name, but he said that her middle name, Clara, is Courtney's godmother's name.

As Al lovingly gazes at his precious granddaughter, he holds onto her protectively. His caption that accompanied the picture reads:

"How was your day? Mine was pretty pretty, pretty, pretty good."

In another carousel of images, Al was seen again looking completely enthralled as he held onto Sky. As the weather anchor held back tears while holding her, he admitted that Sky has him wrapped around her tiny finger and has been pulling at his heartstrings ever since she was born.

Al Roker Shared Some Words about Becoming a Grandfather for the First Time

When news of Sky's birth was announced, Al's fellow "Today" co-hosts expressed their happiness for him and asked him how he felt becoming a grandfather for the first time. Of his entry into grandfatherhood, Al expressed:

"It is magical, it really is. Everybody tells you that it's going to be this thing, and you don't know. It's like when they tell you about having your first child and then to hold this little girl knowing that you know... almost 35 years ago, I held her mom, you know, and here she is...and she's just perfect and I'm telling you she's a great sleeper."
