The blonde beauty has built a global empire as a DJ, a designer, a philanthropist, a host, a model, an actress, and a New York Times best-selling author.

Hilton & Reum Spark Backlash While on Vacation

While on vacation, the world-famous reality star and her husband, Reum, were recently spotted on the beach in Maui with their seven-month-old child, Phoenix.

This is despite the Hawaii tourism officials urging visitors to leave the island so that there can be enough hotel rooms for homeless residents. In part, the request was to allow officials to focus on the wildfire recovery amid rescue and search efforts.

The traveling agency penned, "Visitors who are on non-essential travel are being asked to leave Maui, and non-essential travel to Maui is strongly discouraged at this time."

They added that in the days and weeks ahead, the teams would solely focus on the distraught residents and communities affected by the devastation.

All the while, Hilton was photographed smiling at a resort in Wailea which is only 30 miles from Lahaina, where 96 people lost their lives; the death toll continues to rise.

This devastation has been recorded as the worst wildfire in America in 100 years. Meanwhile, a smaller fire in south Maui's Kihei area was still ablaze on August 13, 2023, only five miles from the family of three's vacation spot.

Per media reports, Hilton and her family arrived on the island the same day the wildfires ravaged the historic town of Lahaina, burning it to the ground.

On August 9, 2023, the Hawaii Tourism Authority asked those visiting the location to leave. Meanwhile, Hilton and Reum held hands and smiled as they strolled while families grieved for their loved ones just miles away.

“[…] My sister and I have been staying at [a hotel] for so many years."

Still, while insiders close to her claim she has "absolutely" been helping out in the wake of the natural disaster by dropping off supplies at shelters, some people believe she should not be there in the first place.

Twitter users took to the platform to voice their frustrations. "Disgusting. They've asked all tourists to leave the island," tweeted one social media user.

Another stated, "Imagine watching thousands of ppl lose their homes, loved ones, families, etc, and then expecting them to SERVE YOU DRINKS WHILE U FROLIC ON THE BEACH INFRONT OF THEM OMG."

Someone else wrote, "Tone. Meet my friend Deaf," while a fourth online user penned, "The backdrop to their beach frolics is a stark contrast to their smiles and laughter. Part of the island is an inferno."

Meanwhile, a source close to the heiress revealed Hilton has been of great help amid the unfortunate incident, adding that Maui holds a "special place in her heart" and that she continues to help those in need.
