Cher has been married twice and has two adult children. The "Goddess of Pop" once expressed that she had always desired to become a mother.

The Hollywood star has won several awards, including an Emmy, a Grammy, and an Oscar, throughout her six-decade-long career. However, she is proudest of how she raised her kids.

"I always always wanted to be a mother," Cher, who previously suffered several miscarriages, revealed during her appearance on "Dr. Phil" in 2004. She said she is proud that both her adult children have "great morals" and are honest and respectful.

The singer welcomed her first child, son Chaz Bono in March 1969, with her first husband and singer, Sonny Bono, whom she divorced in 1974. Shortly after, in fact, just days after her divorce from Bono was finalized, she wed Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band in 1975. The couple welcomed their only child together, son Elijah Blue Allman, in July 1976.

Three years later, the couple parted ways, and Cher raised her children as a single mother. Chaz grew up to be a writer and is now 54 years old, while Elijah Blue followed in his parents' footsteps by becoming a musician, now aged 47.

As for their mom, she never remarried again. Cher turned 77 in May 2023, but it seems her age is not slowing her down. She even wonders when she will eventually get old.

The "I Got You Babe" hitmaker, who is reportedly working on two new albums and planning to tour later this year, wrote on Twitter, "Ok. Will Someone PLEASE Tell me…..When Will I Feel OLD? This is ridiculous. I keep hearing these numbers, but I Honestly can't understand them."

Cher’s Former Home Is on the Market for Double the Asking Price

During her long, illustrious life, Cher has owned multiple homes. One of those homes where she lived in the '90s, located in the exclusive La Gorce Island in Miami Beach, has recently been listed on the market for $42.5 million. It is described as a "legacy home" by the listing agent.

Cher purchased the property in 1993 for $1.3 million, transformed it into a grand villa, and sold it three years later in 1996 for $4.35 million. Moorish accents and architectural elements from her stay there still feature in the house today.

Before selling off the abode, the actress decorated it with religious art and carved wood, which reflected her love of Venetian and Moorish design.

The Spanish Contemporary Estate, with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and three and a half-baths, is selling for more than double its previous asking price following a major makeover.

The house, which attracted the likes of Matt Damon and Billy Joel, sold for $17 million in 2020. It now features a contemporary décor design, including updated appliances.

It is a 12,450-square-foot home with 68 acres of land and is spacious enough for entertaining, featuring open-plan living areas and multiple dining spots.

Stunning features of the home include the main bedroom with a glass-encased central walk-in shower, a kitchen with a marble-topped island, and a light-filled workout room.

There is a bar area with complete bar seating and glass shelves, and the formal dining room has doors opening to the garden. The upper level has large windows bringing in natural light inside the house.

The mansion is predominantly white, with light Brazilian oak flooring, black windows, and arched door frame details complementing the home space. It has dual grand staircases and high ceilings.

The outdoor space has manicured grounds, a central idyllic courtyard, and a swimming pool close to the water. The house has a cold plunge pool, a pool house, a sun deck, a sauna, a hot tub, a chef's kitchen, a media lounge, social salons, and two garages.

It also comes with a 158-foot frontage view of the ocean with a private jetty for boat access. In addition, there are two privately accessed suites that are big enough for hosting.

The estate also features gold-toned finishes, a double-height foyer, and a 50-foot-long swimming pool. It has abstract patterned custom wallpaper in the Art Deco-style bar area.

The home's current owners, James and Cecily Eaton, remodeled the property for over three years. Before they bought the estate, it had previously been sold in 2017.

Cher Sold the House Two Years before Sonny's Untimely Death

Cher lived in the magnificent property for just a few years. Then she sold it a couple of years before her former spouse, Bono, tragically died in 1998 in a skiing accident. She attended his funeral and gave an emotional eulogy.

The pop icon recalled meeting Bono—who was also a politician—for the first time when she was sixteen. He had walked into a room and she recounted, “I had not seen anything like him before in my life."

When she set her eyes on him, everyone in the room suddenly disappeared as he had captured her attention—she zoned out. Cher said Bono had a "weird hairdo between Caesar and Napoleon." She revealed the first thing he ever told her was that he was a descendant of Napoleon.

Cher and Bono were once a music duo who went by Sonny and Cher. Following his untimely death, the two were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she accepted it alongside her loved ones and his wife, Mary Bono.

Cher also worked with her second husband, Allman, on a duet album, “Two the Hard Way,” but it failed. They split for good after its release. Allman, who died in May 2017, revealed his drinking may have led to their eventual split. He said she feared he would go back to drinking again.

Cher featured her troubled marriage with the musician in her 1979 single, “My Song.” She performed it at a concert, expressing her woes about their son, Elijah Blue, and how he will never get to know his father. Footage of Elijah was flashed on the screen behind her as she sang. Interestingly, the footage was captured by Bono.
