When Milano and David tied the knot in 2009, they started trying for a baby soon after their wedding. Their first attempt to conceive went successfully, and Milano got pregnant for the first time at 38 years old. However, she, unfortunately, experienced a miscarriage:

"I was completely crushed. Devastated. I remember going to the doctor and trying unsuccessfully to find a heartbeat."

After the appointment, Milano divulged how she sat in the parking lot of the medical facility with David and sobbed while they held onto each other. Fortunately, her loving spouse helped her through the pain when he caressed her face, told her everything would be ok, and said they would try to have another baby.
