Country singer Travis Tritt has been making country music for several decades. Before he became the famous musician whom fans love, he was young and in love. The musician ended up marrying his high school sweetheart, Karen Ryon.

Karen Ryon went to Bowie High School, where she met her now-famous ex-husband. She later had her college education at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Unfortunately, not much information is known about her.

Who Is Karen Ryon?

Tritt and Ryon's love story began in junior year of high school. At that time, she had just called it quits with a guy she was seeing, and the now-famous musician reached out to her through a phone call. Admittedly, Tritt wasn't as smooth with women then. However, he became head over heels with Ryon.

She was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. She was also the first person Tritt fell in love with and intimately connected with. His love for her was so strong that it made him want to leave home and get married.

In December 1982, Ryon received a ring from the singer to show his love. She tied the knot with him and started a life together the following year. While he worked for an air-conditioning and heating business, she worked at Burger King.

With time, Ryon and Tritt realized they were incompatible. Suddenly, arguments increased, mainly because they were not financially stable. To escape the situation, Ryon's husband would create music with his band, which his wife did not like. Tritt recalled:

"We couldn't carry on a conversation for five minutes without an argument, and all those arguments finally came down to just one: If you don't like it, well, just pack up and move."

Eventually, they broke up and divorced. The court gave Ryon everything she had already taken with her and ordered Tritt to pay a few more. She later wrote a book about her relationship, titled "Keep the Memories, Bury the Love: My Life with Travis Tritt," describing him as "a long-haired boy with a guitar, the one everyone knew but few befriended."

Karen Ryon's Life after Her Divorce

In her book, Ryon described herself as someone who grew up from a bride to a "confident, self-sufficient adult." She never gave up on love and later found the man who became her one true and greatest love.

On September 28, 1985, Ryon walked down the aisle for a second time and married a man named Tim. She celebrated their 24th anniversary in 2009 with a Facebook tribute, sharing throwback photos of their wedding.

Who Is Travis Tritt Married to Now

Ryon wasn't the only one who walked the aisle again. After their divorce, Tritt tied the knot with Jodi Barnett, whom he also separated with. On April 12, 1997, he married a Nashville student and model, Theresa Nelson, even though he thought he was not good at staying married.

He had met his current wife during his birthday at a Nashville restaurant on February 8, 1995. Tritt and Nelson share three children, the youngest being Tarian Nathaniel Tritt, who turns 20 in November 2023. The country crooner also has another son and a daughter.

Like Tritt, many famous artists rose to fame because of country music, including Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, and Reba McEntire. The three stars have released several albums and earned international recognition.
