Why Did Reba's Spouse End Their Marriage of 26 Years?

Blackstock shocked his ex-wife when he suddenly demanded a divorce. But the end of over two decades together did not only come with confusion and heartbreak for McEntire but humiliation too.

The singer reportedly found out that her ex-husband had left their union because of a romantic relationship he had started with one of her closest friends.

McEntire and Blackstock were not only partners romantically but in business too, so losing someone she shared her whole life with abruptly crushed the mother of one.

One of her close friends also revealed, "Narvel was her protector, business partner, and manager, and it was tough on her. She had no idea it was coming,"

During one of her CMT interviews with Cody Alan, McEntire spoke about what helped her get through the big transition in her life. The "Does He Love You" singer said it was first and foremost her faith in God.

McEntire prayed each day for God to help her take one step toward getting back to herself and doing what she loved. She also had a great group of girlfriends who supported her, and her family held her hand through it all. Her son Shelby, who works as a race car driver, was also by her side throughout this emotional rollercoaster.

When the country star started flourishing in her healing journey, she started getting questions about what she would be doing next, but McEntire responded, "Well, I dunno; God hasn't told me yet."

McEntire's friends said she was very spiritual and believed there was a plan, but the singer was not going get stuck in a loop of sadness worrying about what Blackstock was doing with his personal life. She was ready to see what the world had in store for her.

How Did Reba Unexpectedly Find the Love of Her Life?

Part of McEntire's future plan did not foresee finding love, but little did she know that she would find someone to make her happy again. The singer and her actor boyfriend Rex Linn had known each other since 1991 when they worked on the movie; "The Gambler Returns" with Kenny Rogers.

The two did not cross paths again until January 2020 when the "Consider Me Gone" singer made a guest appearance on the series "Young Sheldon," in which Linn also starred.

After the day of filming, Linn asked McEntire out for dinner. The date they did not know was a date ended with the singer laughing the whole night.

But then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and the two were separated in different states. Linn was in Los Angeles and McEntire in Oklahoma because she had just lost her mother.

From March to June, the couple did not see each other, but they spent a lot of time talking on Facetime and Zoom. The singer said it was a good way for them to get to know each other intimately.

Although McEntire was not looking for love, she was grateful that Linn came into her life and could not be happier with him. The singer is certain she has found the one. She said "He's the love of my life. We're pretty much inseparable."

McEntire also gave us a look into her relationship. She said she always makes her boyfriend a cup of coffee every morning, and even if Linn offers to help, she refuses because she enjoys doing it for him.
