Hannah Storm’s Husband Dan Hicks Is a Sportscaster & Dad to Her 3 Kids

Hannah Storm's husband, Dan Hicks, is a girl dad of three, a loving spouse, and an avid golfer. He has been with the NBC Sports Group for over three decades.

Dan Hicks's voice is synonymous with NBC's Olympic coverage. Married to Hannah Storm since the mid-1990s, the couple, who now work for competing networks, once shared the screen. He can be found on the fairway when not in the studio or with family.

None of the proud father's daughters look to have followed their famous parents into sportscasting. Two of his children have pursued careers in creative industries, with the youngest recently graduating from one of the country's top schools.

Hannah Storm's Husband Has Given Play-by-Plays on Her Alma Mater's Football Games

Born John Daniel Hicks to James E. Hicks and Diane W. Hicks, he was raised in Tucson, Arizona. James was a Hughes Aircraft Company operations manager, and Diane was a travel agent. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in journalism.

As a young reporter, Dan began his career at the local Tucson radio station, KCEE/KWFM, in 1984 and later as a weekend sports anchor at KVOA-TV. He joined CNN in 1989, hosting CNN Sports Tonight and programs on college football and basketball.

His acclaimed tenure as a play-by-play commentator at NBC Sports kicked off in June 1992. He is a veteran sportscaster of over a dozen Olympic Games, starting with the Summer Olympics in 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dan's voice has been connected with various sports, including the NBC Notre Dame Football coverage. 2022 was a busy year for the Arizona native when he covered the Summer and Winter Olympic Games and The Players Championship for his 30th year.

On Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson being absent from the last mentioned tournament, he said, "The course is always the biggest star." Also a golfing enthusiast in his downtime, the six-handicap golfer has said:

"If I'm not working or with my family, I'm on the golf course."

Hannah Storm Is the 'Queen' of Dan Hicks' Universe

The UA grad and Hannah met on the job at CNN, getting hitched on January 8, 1994. On their 2021 wedding anniversary, Dan shared a throwback screen grab of them appearing on air, stating that she is by "far" his "better half."

Hannah is a music manager who almost became a park ranger.

In May of that same year, he wrote, "Happy Mother's Day to the Queen of our universe and the incredible role model for our girls." He supports his wife's career and respects her journey as a female in a male-dominated field.

Hannah Storm and Dan Hicks Have a Full Roster of Daughters

The sportscaster power couple has three daughters, Ellery Marie Hicks, Hannah Hicks, and Riley Hicks. The youngest, Riley, born January 2001, graduated from Duke University in May 2023.

Upon discovering her passion for metalwork and sculpture, Ellery dropped out of the Parson's New School of Design's fashion design program. Under her brand, Ellery Marie, the jeweler creates "wearable sculptures."

According to a Billboard feature, Hannah is a music manager who almost became a park ranger and wilderness trip leader. Along with Hannah Peale, she manages DJ_Dave. She promotes "dope" talent, especially "non-male producers and artists."
