Milo Hamish Ferguson Is an Animator - Facts about Craig Ferguson’s Son

Longtime comedian and author Craig Ferguson had a child with a former spouse, who's now taking the world by storm in animation. Their name is Milo Hamish Ferguson, and they go by they/them pronouns.

On September 8, 2020, Milo Hamish Ferguson's mother, Sascha Ferguson, shared a throwback photo of herself nursing her newborn child. It was little Milo, wearing a blue romper, swaddled in a blanket of the same color but in a much lighter shade.

Sascha smiled shyly at the camera, holding her baby close with one arm, cupping their tiny pale hand in her own. Writing from Los Angeles International Airport in a heartfelt Instagram tribute, Sascha revealed the photo had been taken 20 years back.

After spending several months at home, Milo was returning to college for their sophomore year in New York City. "I didn't think it could POSSIBLY speed up. The past 3 (bonus) months of Milo returning home seemed to fly by faster than the first 3," their mother wrote.

The 20-something-year-old only sometimes appears on social media, if it's on their mom's profile or if it's about their work. Now an official graduate, they've kickstarted their career on a positive and remarkable note.

Milo attended the School of Visual Arts and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation. Among their specialties are Flash Animation, Character Design, Adobe Photoshop, Artwork, Illustration, and Creative Writing.

In 2020, they made their directorial and voice-acting debut with the animated short film "Gemini." The following year, they released another, "Jupiter & Europa," which premiered at the LA Outfest.

The two-minute film earned Milo the Outstanding Experimental Short Film award. The talented artist also has an official website where they announced they would be open for internships and work opportunities, including commissions, from Summer 2023.

Milo has an official Instagram page dedicated to their work. As of this writing, they had already accumulated over 18.5K followers. Although they are primarily referred to as Craig's son in the media, they indicated on their website that they go by they/them/theirs.

Milo also shared the software they use to animate, including ToonBoom Harmony, Adobe After Effects, Storyboard Pro, and Procreate, all for various purposes and styles. They also listed free software, like DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro, for those on a budget.

Milo appears to have a close relationship with their mother. In 2019, as they were headed back to school, Milo and Sascha stopped by Google headquarters for a bit of fun, as Sascha gleefully recalled:

"We reallllly wanted to go inside to hammer questions at the receptionist: 'OK! How tall is the Empire State Building?' 'How large is the average blue whale?'"

She gushed about her gratitude for every precious moment she spent with Milo. Earlier in 2023, she celebrated their milestone, sharing a photo of Milo in their graduation attire and captioning it with a black heart emoji.

Little is known about Milo's relationship with their dad, but Craig (now married to Megan Wallace Cunningham) frequently spoke of his kid in his 2019 memoir, "Riding The Elephant." He wrote of many of his and Milo's adventures when they were young.

He also wrote of them being of Jewish descent — much like Cynthia Weil, Julian Murray Stern, and Daniel Radcliffe — from Sascha's side and wanting to honor that part of their identity and heritage with a bar mitzvah.
