Victoria Granucci: Her Life before & after She Became John Mellencamp's Ex-wife

Victoria Granucci became the second ex-wife of John Mellencamp at the close of the eighties. The actress has dealt with many medical issues, including during her pregnancy with her youngest.

Victoria Granucci, pronounced gruh-NOO-chee, was married to John Mellencamp for most of her twenties, during which time they had two daughters.

Though she lives a quiet life on an island community in South Carolina, her famous daughter's beautiful social media tributes give insight into her life and their relationship. According to Facebook, she is in a relationship with an undisclosed person.

John Mellencamp Met Victoria Granucci on the Job

Victoria Lynn "Vicky" Granucci was born November 26, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, to Barbara Evelyn Babcock and Hollywood stuntman Phil Adams. She was raised in Burbank after her parents split and attended Glendale Adventist Academy.

At 20, she was music executive Billy Gaff's assistant when she entered John's orbit. Still married to Priscilla "Cil" Esterline, he pursued Vicky hard. "I think she hated my guts at first because I tried to be Joe Cool with her, and she saw right through it," he said:

"She was so amazing, so beautiful, I didn't know what to say to her at first! After one night together, we were inseparable. After a week, I realized that I was in big trouble."

Vicky initiated a dialogue with Cil for the sake of Michelle Mellencamp, the latter's child with John. She wed the rocker on May 23, 1981, two months before the birth of their first daughter, Teddi Mellencamp, on July 1.

Vicky moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with her two daughters.

A classic Californian blonde, she aspired to be an actress. The LA native had an uncredited part as 'Schoolgirl' in "Grease" in 1978 and starred in John's 1982 music video for "Jack & Diane."

Victoria Granucci Has Had Medical Issues

Vicky got chicken pox while pregnant with their second daughter, Justice Mellencamp. The doctor cautioned that the child could be born with a deformity.

"As the doctor began the delivery, we decided that if there was any justice in the world, the baby would be healthy," John recalled. In November 2022, Teddi shared a photo of her mother in hospital.

"This year, for your birthday, I pray for healing and a full recovery for you," she wrote without giving details of her mom's ailment but reminding her that she is loved. A month earlier, she posted about her fear of seeing her mom in the ICU.

After her divorce from John Mellencamp in 1989, Vicky moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with her two daughters, where she still resides. She works at Harold's Diner.

Her eldest, Teddi, is in the fitness and wellness space and was a cast member of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" between 2017 and 2020. She has four children.

"Happy Mother's Day to the woman who taught me to that you can overcome anything," Teddi said in May 2022. "Seeing our relationship evolve into where we are today makes my heart happy."

Justice, a professional hairdresser, has three kids with her husband. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Moore, in her father's South Carolina home in 2014.
