Vera Wang, 74, Stuns Fans with Photo of Her Grownup Adopted Daughter without Braces: ‘Amazing Genes'

Fashion designer Vera Wang is a mom to two beautiful and successful daughters. Wang got married to real estate developer and businessman Arthur P Becker at The Pierre Hotel in 1989. The couple then adopted their two daughters, Cecilia, born in 1990, and Josephine, born in 1993.

Wang said that while it was majorly her decision to adopt their daughters, Becker had a say in the adoption process. After 23 years together, Becker and Wang divorced, but they remained close.

After Becker and Wang's shocking split, the mom of two said that her former husband was someone that would always be in her life. Wang and her ex also announced that they would remain devoted parents to their daughters even after their separation.

Wang and Becker's daughters are now all grown. The designer recently shared a gorgeous picture of her youngest daughter, Josephine, on her 30th birthday. Wang said she was so thrilled to have celebrated Josephine's birthday with her. She posted more pictures of Josephine surrounded by family and flowers.

Wang, who is a feminist, said one of her daughters wanted to be an actor.

Wang has come a long way to become a successful and devoted parent. The designer is the daughter of a wealthy Chinese businessman. However, her dad refused to pay for her to attend design school, so Wang climbed the fashion ladder without studying fashion in college.

Still, her star began shining bright. She got a job at Vogue and then later landed a well-paying position at Ralph Lauren. At 40, her dad surprised her when he finally asked her to start a business that focused on bridal outfits. Wang was hesitant at first, but then she ventured into the bridal business with her father's funding and totally transformed it.

Wang revealed that her daughters were her muse because she loved the modern way they dressed. Wang's daughter Cecilia confessed that her mom was opinionated and would let them know whether an outfit was good or bad right off the bat.

However, Wang isn't so opinionated in regards to her daughters' careers. The designer encourages her girls to choose their career paths just as she did.

Wang, who is a feminist, said one of her daughters wanted to be an actor. The mom of two noted that she believes people should go into professions they have half a chance of doing. "I think that any profession that makes you feel old by the time you're 21 is very negative," she added in reference to acting.

The 74-year-old is a supporter of women's growth. She said all young women are the future of the world. Wang wants her legacy to be that she empowered even one young woman and gave them the hope to pursue their dreams.

Wang's daughters are an embodiment of her desire to empower women. Cecilia graduated from Harvard University in 2016, while Josephine attended the University of Pennsylvania and New York University. The successful women are the joy and pride of their mother.
