Ariana Greenblatt on Representing Her Ethnicity
According to reports, Ariana was born and raised in New York and grew up in a multi-cultural home. However, since kickstarting her acting career, the actress has been particularly proud of her Latin roots and representing the Latina community.
During an interview, the actress revealed that she loved surrounding herself with Latina actors, and when she accepted a role in "In the Heights," the prominent Latin storyline in the musical drew her to the part.
However, Ariana has not only been intentional in how she represents the Latina community by picking projects that did not perpetuate harmful stereotypes, but the actress also had all the young girls who looked like her in mind. She shared:
"I stay away from negative-stereotype roles, even if they have some huge director or studio behind them. I’m hyper-aware of my audience and my fan base, which are predominantly other girls just like me, so I always try to remember that."
Who Are Ariana Greenblatt's Parents?
Ariana's parents are Soli and Shon. While little is known about her mother — besides their close relationship — the actress proved she caught the acting bug from her father, who appeared in multiple television shows and films in the late '80s and '90s.
During an interview, Soli and Shon's daughter shared a fun fact about their close-knit family. She revealed that they had thrown her a party for her 13th birthday, which fell during the pandemic, hindering the actress from properly celebrating with her friends.
In addition to the party, they successfully got some of her favorite people to send her shoutouts and put these together in a video they played for her. "It really touched me and made this girl smile," Ariana admitted.

Ariana Greenblatt's Parents Have Been Very Supportive of Her Career
Ariana Greenblatt has been acting since she was 6. While on a family vacation to Los Angeles, her manager told her to attend three "meetings," which turned out to be three auditions.
The "Awake" star eventually landed them all. Although her parents worried about what they would do next as their lives were based in Florida, according to the actress, she had her parents' support every step of the way.
"My parents have always emphasized the importance of having 'balance' in my life," Ariana shared how she balances her love for acting with a normal childhood. She added, "Which really just means discovering other things I really like to do and enjoy so that it's not always about acting or chasing that next project."
