Ariana Greenblatt's Parents: Her Father Is an Actor and the Son of Noted Broadway Producers

Ariana Greenblatt, the young rising star famous for her role in Disney's "Stuck in the Middle," hails from a family of entertainers. Her father joined the industry in the late 1980s, following in his parents' footsteps, who are well-known Broadway producers.

Ariana Greenblatt is one of Hollywood's most promising young stars, whose career began when she was only six. She and her family flew to Los Angeles for vacation but also had a few meetings in the Californian city.

She later learned that those "meetings" were auditions, where she booked her first acting roles. Among them was a minor part in Disney's beloved show "Liv and Maddie," alongside actress and singer Dove Cameron in 2015.

Not too long after, Ariana won her breakout role as Daphne Diaz in "Stuck in the Middle," opposite Jenna Ortega. When the show ended in 2018, she appeared as young Gamora, with the older Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana, in "Avengers: Infinity War," with Josh Brolin.

Recently, she starred in "65," opposite Adam Driver, and will soon play Sasha in the much-anticipated "Barbie" film with Margot Robbie. And while she continues to win audiences worldwide, Ariana isn't the only star in her family.

Ariana's Father, Shon Greenblatt, Is a Music Video Producer

New York native Shon Greenblatt drew his first breath in Rockland on May 13, 1967. He trained in theater at the Stella Adler Conservatory under Arthur Mendoza's wing. At 22, he joined the TV and film industry with a minor role in the 1989 horror comedy "Chopper Chicks in Zombietown."

He played Jinx in the 1990 comedy film, "Just Perfect," and John Doe in 1991's "Freddy's Dead: The Last Nightmare." Shon took more movie roles consistently throughout the decade, ending his onscreen career in 2002. By then, he had transitioned to producing.

It's unclear when, but the father of two co-launched the music video-producing company Creature. He has been married to Solimar Colon, and in addition to their daughter, Ariana, the couple also has a son.

Ariana Greenblatt's Paternal Grandparents Are Multi-Tony-Award-Winning Broadway Producers

Ariana's paternal grandparents are Kenneth D. Greenblatt and Sandra B. Greenblatt. Kenneth is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, while Sandra has Swedish and Italian roots. Per their son's IMDb, the couple's work has been "Tony-nominated more than 60 times and has won more than 20 times."

Those listed in Kenneth's name include "Big," "Sally Marr… and her escorts," "Grand Hotel," "Nine," and "La Cage aux Falles" (produced twice in 1983 and 2004). The last two shows won Tony Awards in 1982, 1984, and 2005 respectively.

Ariana Greenblatt Has a Loving Relationship with Her Parents

In June 2020, Ariana appeared virtually on J-14 Magazine with fellow actress Mckenna Grace to give fans a glimpse of their texts from their moms.

Ariana humorously gave context to her mom's messages which predicted everything she was doing when she received them. The young actress also revealed that she and her dad chat using emojis or GIFs.

She once shared a picture of herself and her mother in 2016, donning formal attire at the Radio Disney Music Awards. In May 2021, Ariana wished her dad a happy birthday on Twitter, alongside a few pictures of the producer.

Little is known about her maternal family, apart from their Puerto Rican ethnicity. However, her grandfather, Luis Colon, has a Facebook page indicating he graduated from ACM/ MAUNABO in 1974 in Puerto Rico. He currently stays in Midland, Michigan.
