Kids may say the darndest things, but they also do things that most adults never think of. Often, parents share anecdotes about what they have seen or heard their children doing that they found funny.

While children bring light and laughter into many people's lives, they can also bring absurdity. Children tend to do strange things without a second thought, baffling the adults around them.

A Reddit question aimed at parents wanted to find out what the "weirdest" thing was that their children had done. The post was flooded with parents' comments sharing their stories with the platform.

The Time Traveler

The mother of one three-year-old was eager to share a story about her son. She shared that she had felt her son lick her toe. She found the behavior odd and asked him what he was doing.

When she asked her son what he was doing licking her toe, he replied that he was time-traveling. Many other users found the story hilarious and said he had to have been time-traveling forward, as he was only three and could not travel backward very far.

The Diaper Painter

One father shared that his daughter had learned to climb out of her crib at 18 months old and to remove her diaper. However, neither of these things had been a repeat event until one fateful morning.

The father said his mother-in-law was visiting, and everyone was sleeping in. At around 7:30, the baby monitor told him his daughter was awake. When he entered her room, she climbed out of her crib, removed her diaper, and used the contents to paint her walls.

The Lightbulb Plea

One parent shared that when their son was four, he happily played in his playroom, and the parent lounged on the couch. Suddenly, the parent heard a noise behind them and turned around to see what it was.

The son stood behind the couch, looking at the ceiling and whispering. When the parent asked him what he was doing, he said he was asking the lightbulbs not to fall and kill his parent.

A parent with a three-year-old son said they had begun to smell burning plastic from their heater vents. They called a friend who worked in heating and cooling who went down into their crawl space where their furnace was located.

Twenty minutes later, the friend asked for garbage bags and came out with three filled with toys. When they asked their son why he had done this, he clarified:

"Mommy, there are alligators down there, and if I don't feed them my toys, they will eat my sister."

The Blanket Nest

One person shared a story about themselves when they were younger, saying that when their mother would buy eggs, they would take them from the fridge and put them in a blanket nest in their room.

The aim was to hatch the eggs in the blanket nest, but when nothing happened, they would remove them from their blanket nest and return them to the refrigerator for the family to eat.

The Trifecta

One parent shared not just one but three things that their daughter had done that they considered weird. The first thing was that the little girl was drinking strawberry milk and then spitting it back into the cup so she could drink it again.

The second thing was that the parent had hosed off a tarp drying on their patio when the little girl walked up and drank from the water on the tarp. The last thing was that the little girl put a toothbrush her parent used to clean small parts of the car in her mouth.

The Nativity Cook

A mother shared that her son had been cooking in a play kitchen and had a pot on the stove. When she asked what he was doing, he exclaimed:

"I'm cooking baby Jesus!"

When she looked inside the pot, she found that her son had taken baby Jesus from her mother-in-law's nativity scene and had placed him in the pot. Many users found this story hilarious.
