This public figure was previously dismissed for her looks, but a director saw something special about her distinctive physical features and made her a star as he has worked with her several times.

The celebrity is none other than Rossy de Palma, who was discovered in 1986 by Spanish film director Pedro Almodóvar at a café in Madrid.

The Spanish actress has appeared several times in Almodóvar's movies, including "Law of Desire" (1987) and "Women on the Verge of Nervous Breakdown" (1988).

At the beginning of her acting career, de Palma was famously dismissed as "ugly and strange" by her home country's leading newspaper. She has asymmetrical eyes and a long nose. The model's left eye is green, and her right eye is much brighter and rounder.

When asked whether she has an ambivalent relationship with makeup in a November 2017 interview, de Palma said no, adding, "I love makeup!"

She started experimenting with makeup from a young age as she used to smell her mom's lipsticks. As a teenager, de Palma and her friends enjoyed "playing with different makeup colors and creating risky looks," she explained.
