The recent images of Madonna came after being hospitalized earlier this year for a severe bacterial infection, which saw her spend some days in the ICU and postpone her world tour. The picture shared from her Instagram Live left fans shocked by what they saw.

Visually, the star's facial features looked remarkably different than how her fans were used to seeing her. Instead of her usually prominent, chiseled cheekbones, her face appeared plumper and fuller, and of particular concern to fans were her lips:
