Ludivine Sagnier’s Husband Kim Chapiron Met Her through Vincent Cassel
Ludivine Sagnier's husband, longtime filmmaker Kim Chapiron, has been friends with Vincent Cassel since he was a teen. Through their frequent collaborations since becoming friends, the pair have seen each other find love, marry, and build families.
Kim Chapiron drew his first breath in Paris, France, on July 4, 1980. He is the son of video artist and painter Christian Chapiron, who had an early start in filmmaking. He became acquainted and collaborated with other professionals in the industry from as young as 14.
At 15, he co-founded Kourtrajmé, a group of talented artists, with his friend Vincent Cassel. Chapiron cultivated a solid bond and work relationship with the actor, and through him, he met his wife, actress Ludivine Sagnier.

The Early Days of Kim Chapiron's Enduring Friendship with Vincent Cassel
Chapiron met Cassel through director Matthieu Kassowitz. He shared that he had known Kassowitz from age six but only met Cassel when he was 14. At the time, Kassowitz and Cassel worked together on the film "La haine," during which Chapiron frequently saw Cassel.
Chapiron had also begun making short movies and eventually showed them to Cassel. The actor subsequently asked Chapiron to create a music video for a group he was working with, but the project was later canceled.

Cassel apologized but told Chapiron he could call him if he needed any help with filmmaking. Chapiron was 16 at this point, and he immediately suggested they made a film, as he recounted:
"I called all my friends — about 50 people — and we got together one weekend, and I made my first film with Vincent: 'Wanted Brothers.'"
Cassel would go on to appear in many of Chapiron's other movies, notably "Sheitan" (a.k.a "Satan") and "Kourtrajmé Vol 1." He married actress Monica Belluci and later led Chapiron to his life partner, Sagnier.

Kim Chapiron's Private Relationship with Ludivine Sagnier
Like Chapiron, Sagnier's journey into the film industry began in her early childhood. The details surrounding her first meeting with Chapiron are unknown, but she once expressed how she felt forever indebted to Cassel for introducing her to her husband.
The couple has rarely spoken about their relationship or appeared together in public. Chapiron even has an Instagram account; however, there were only three posts on the page at the time of writing, all dedicated to his latest film, "Le jeune Imam."
It's also unclear when they tied the knot, but it has been over a decade. Sagnier already had a daughter from a previous relationship when she married Chapiron. She became a mom of three with two more daughters with the director, reportedly named Ly Lan and TÃ m.

Ludivine Sagnier on Working with Her Husband
Sagnier, also a theater actress, once spoke about collaborating with Chapiron. During a 2012 interview, she mentioned that she and Chapiron planned to work on a film together but expected some challenges.
"It's not always easy, that's for sure," she remarked, adding that it didn't work for former couple Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes. Mendes was Winslet's second husband following her marriage to Jim Threapleton. A mom of three like Sagnier, she is currently married to Ned Rocknroll.
