Only three months after Dean McDermott announced his divorce from Tori Spelling, he seems to be back on the dating scene following his recent appearance with a new woman.

It appears the television actor is going through hard times as he is reportedly living in a San Fernando Valley rental home with four other men.

Moreover, 56-year-old McDermott is reportedly seeking welfare as he has recently been lining up at a government welfare office.

The "Chopped Canada" host was spotted holding hands with his new girlfriend on October 10, 2023, as they made their way to the Department of Social Services West Valley office in Chatsworth.

The Canadian native sported a black T-shirt paired with blue jeans and biker boots as he held onto a stack of white envelopes. As for his new beau, who has reportedly been identified as Lily Calo, she wore an army green jumpsuit with Converse high tops while sporting a pixie cut.

It remains unclear where the duo met and how long they have been an item. However, they were photographed together most recently at the health and human services organization.

Social media users have since weighed in on the news of McDermott having a girlfriend amid divorce and financial woes. One Twitter user wrote, "How does he afford to date with 5 children to support?"

An insider close to Spelling reportedly revealed the duo's close pals had been privy to their ups and downs through the years but that they "seemed to be in a good place" in the months leading to the split. The source further expressed:

"This feels really out of the blue."

The insider further stated that if this had occurred a year before, it would not have been such a surprise because things were "terrible" between McDermott and Spelling at the time.

In March 2021, the pair sparked split rumors after the actress was spotted without her wedding ring. The speculations gained momentum after Spelling admitted she and her children's father were sleeping in separate rooms. At the time, a source revealed the two had "major issues."
