Jason Clarkson & Sister Kelly Clarkson Did Not Grow Up Together Though Reconnected Later On
Jason Clarkson and his sister, Kelly Clarkson, were separated following their parents' divorce. They reconnected later in life and have maintained a loving sibling bond; however, Kelly never reconciled with their dad as Jason had hoped.
"Stronger" songstress Kelly Clarkson has been an open book about her life from the moment she entered the spotlight. She came from humble beginnings and was one of three siblings who were separated following her parents' divorce.
Her sister, Alyssa Clarkson, went to live with her aunt and uncle, while her brother, Jason Clarkson, stayed with their father. Jason would reunite with Kelly and Alyssa many years later as he was about to marry.

Jason Clarkson's Reunion with His Sisters
During a 2009 interview, Kelly shared insight about her relationship with her siblings. The singer said she, Jason, and Alyssa knew of each other's existence, but they didn't grow up together "at all."
Their financial situations didn't favor them either, as they couldn't even afford to phone one other. They reconnected at Jason's wedding in Alaska, and although their upbringings were separate, their mannerisms were so similar that Kelly felt it was as if they'd never been apart.
When she shared this, she, Jason, and Alyssa lived together on a compound, though each sibling had their own house. They also frequently spent quality time as a family, throwing barbeques, going out, and caring for many of their rescue animals, including horses, miniatures, dogs, and cats.

Jason Clarkson Keeps a Low Profile
Though he is the brother of a famous musician, Jason has made minimal public appearances with his sister. In 2003, he accompanied her to the MTV Music Awards, which also hosted stars like Justin Timberlake, Avril Lavigne, and Christina Aguilera.
In 2006, Jason appeared in Kelly's "Walk Away" music video. Many years later, in a 2017 interview, Kelly opened up about her relationship with their dad. The talk show host confessed that she could never reconcile with her father, although she did try a few times.
Yet, even in her attempts, she admitted her efforts to make amends were for her brother's sake. Kelly described Jason as someone with "a big heart" who always wanted his family to "come together." Unfortunately, their father died in 2018 before things could ever work out.

The Clarkson Siblings Support One Another
Although Kelly works in a demanding industry, she prioritizes quality time with her loved ones. "I'm actually getting to celebrate my brother's birthday with him today! Dinner with my family ....always entertaining and fun. :) Love Texas!" she gushed in 2010.
In November 2018, she celebrated Alyssa's birthday, and they shared a bottle of wine on Facebook Live while promoting Kelly's then-new song "Heat." Almost three years later, Alyssa came to her sister's aid when she moved to LA amid her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.
The legal proceedings presented many challenges for Kelly, but she had support, even from her ex-husband's stepmother, Reba McEntire. Kelly later talked about moving to the North Carolina east coast, where her family is based.
