Gloria DeLouise was the only woman ever known as Burt Young's wife. The late couple were married between the early 1960s and mid-1970s and only had one child, who recently confirmed her father's death.

Late Hollywood star Burt Young tied the knot with Gloria DeLouise in 1961. The former couple welcomed a daughter, Anne Morea Steingieser, eight years into their marriage; however, Burt Young once shared that they were unhappy.

The actor indirectly sought another woman's affection while married, though he revealed that he never cheated on his wife. His union with Gloria DeLouise ended following her death in 1974. The cause of her death, however, remains unknown.

Burt Young's Efforts for Another Woman While Married

Young had mainly kept the details of his marriage private, but over 30 years after his wife's death, he opened up about their relationship. Speaking about the beginning of his career, he said, "Well, I started pretty old, like 28. I wasn't too happy at home with this lady I was married to."

Young met another woman with whom he thought he'd find more joy. "Y'know when things ain't working with somebody, and you think, 'Oh, if I was with that other lady, things'd be wonderful?'" he reflected.

In discreet ways, Young tried getting closer to this "other lady" while not cheating on his wife. As a "last resort," he started talking to her about becoming an actress, which she found exciting. She told Young she had always wanted to study with Lee Strasberg but had never gotten the chance.

Young didn't know who Lee was then but wrote to the theater director to help his lady friend. The most he hoped to get out of this gesture was to hold her hand, and the "Rocky" star ended up studying with Strasberg for two years.

Gloria DeLouise and Burt Young's Daughter Dabbled in Acting

Young and DeLouise's daughter was born in 1969 in New York City. She briefly followed in her dad's footsteps in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Steingieser played a minor role as a waitress in the 1997 comedy-drama "The Deli," which starred Michael Imperioli.

Her next role would be in another comedy-drama, 2000's "Blue Moon." Steingieser played Michelle, opposite her dad, who starred as Bobby. The cast also included Heather Matarazzo and Zach Braff.

Steingieser's last known onscreen role was in the action flick "Never Look Back," playing Rachel Burke. Following her Hollywood stint, it's unknown what career she chose to pursue. Like her dad, she has kept a low profile, but it is known that she has a son.

Gloria DeLouise Also Lived Privately

DeLouise rarely, if ever, appeared with her husband in public, but her daughter sometimes accompanied him to events or was seen out with the actor. Young once shared a fond memory of Steingieser when he shot the 1975 movie "The Killer Elite."

She was visiting on set, and the film crew had spent half a day preparing a street for his big car stunt. However, just as the director, Sam Peckinpah, yelled, "Action!" Steingieser ran to Young's cab and said, "Daddy, I'm in here!"

Young worried they'd ruined the shot, and as he prepared for Peckinpah to "kill" him, Peckinpah cut the scene and said to Young, "What do you do to deserve that kind of love?" Young passed away on October 8, 2023, at age 83. After DeLouise died, he had said he wanted to remarry and have more kids.

His only daughter confirmed his death and said its cause had yet to be determined. Young gained immense fame as the quintessential Hollywood tough guy, notably recognized for his iconic role in the "Rocky" film franchise, starring alongside Sylvester Stallone and Carl Weathers.
