David and Victoria Beckham have been married for 24 years. The couple have had happy moments in their marriage, as well as challenging ones, where they had to fight for each other and their union.
In the Netflix documentary "Beckhams," the couple opens up about the alleged affair that rocked their marriage. In 2004, Rebecca Loos, David's personal assistant, rose to fame when she said she had an affair with the former England captain.

When the news of the alleged affair came out in 2004, David referred to it as a "ludicrous" story about his personal life. He added that he was happily married with kids and that no statements from a third party can alter these facts.

Years after the alleged affair was a hot topic in media houses, David and Victoria have opened up in their documentary about its impact on their marriage. David termed the alleged affair a "horrible" story that put his marriage under intense pressure.

The alleged affair occurred when the former footballer moved to Spain to play for Real Madrid. Rebecca said she and David had a sexual relationship between September and December 2004 while Victoria was still in England. David admitted that the move to Spain was difficult for him, especially since he didn't have his family with him from the start.
Rebecca added that David made her out to be a person who made up horrible stories and made Victoria suffer.
David and Victoria felt like they were drowning when the alleged affair came to light. The former Spice Girls didn't feel like she and her husband were a united front anymore. She described the moment as the most unhappy she had ever been in her entire life.
It was even much more difficult for David to see his wife hurt. The former footballer knew that at that difficult moment, he and his wife needed each other and had to fight for their family. The couple fought for their family and are still happily married and together with four kids: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
After David and Victoria revealed the effect of the alleged affair on their family, Rebecca also chose to respond to their statements. She accused David of having a false sense of self-pity while potentially ruining her reputation.
Rebecca Loos' Response to David and Victoria's Statements
Rebecca worked as David's personal assistant when she moved to London and signed up at a recruitment agency. She got into sports when her first interview at the agency was to be a personal assistant to a tennis player. Later, the recruitment agency hired her as David's assistant when he moved to Spain because Rebecca spoke Spanish.

In Spain, Rebecca did a couple of things as David's personal assistant: she house-hunted for the family, school-hunted, and she got David a Spanish teacher and security team. Things got a bit weird when she was house hunting for the couple, and Victoria asked her not to speak with David but to liaise with her directly.

However, when Rebecca told David this, he kept texting her late at night and told her no one had to know that the two were communicating. One day, they were texting, and Rebecca recalled that their messages were getting "very dirty, very naughty, and it's fun."
Suddenly, David's Spanish bodyguard texted Rebecca and asked her if she was texting with David. The bodyguard told Rebecca that David was showing her texts to his friends, and they were all laughing. "I was very hurt," Rebecca admitted. This hurt and pain made Rebecca decide not to keep their affair a secret since he mistreated her.
When the "Beckhams" aired on Netflix, Rebecca started receiving strange calls, new followers on Instagram, and so much hatred. She finally watched the series and shared her opinion that "He's making himself a victim, and he's making me look like the liar."
Rebecca added that David was making her out to be a person who made up horrible stories and made Victoria suffer. She insisted that the stories may have been horrible, but they were true, noting that David was responsible for all of this as much as he didn't want to admit so.
Rebecca further remarked that David was responsible for his wife's suffering as he lied and cheated on her. Rebecca chose to speak up because she found David to be a liar. Furthermore, if she stays silent, she will be the one to be called a liar.
Rebecca wished David could have acknowledged what happened between them instead of lying. She also hoped that David would have contacted her and found a way to fix their issue. Instead, Rebecca said he chose to lie, which forced her to continue to defend her name.
Today, Rebecca is glad she got to make mistakes while young. She said those mistakes have made her who she is, and she's in a wonderful place now. Rebecca is a wife, a mother, and a medical assistant.
