‘American Pie’s Tara Reid Says She’s ’Getting Older & Fragile’ in Response to Comments about Her Body

Tara Reid recently faced negative comments from social media users claiming she was too skinny. Admittedly, she has been through years of bullying, both on social media and in person.

During a recent interview on Extra, actress Tara Reid opened up about the bullying she faced for many years, often targeting her physical appearance.

Reid, known for her starring role in "American Pie," claimed that she had always been slender with no health problems about her weight. Still, the online community would force an issue upon her.

"I would definitely say I’ve been through a lot of bullying in my life. It's usually about my body, that I’m too skinny," she said. In 2021, Reid shared a photo flaunting two-piece swimwear that showed her thin frame. She posted the picture, seeing it as an artistic captured moment, but received hate in the comments section. One person said:

"This is just WRONG. Unhealthy and unattractive."

Another social media user, who claimed she was not body shaming, said Reid's appearance was no longer healthy. "She is a beautiful woman when she has a bit more weight on her," the person added. "Anorexia and or bulimia is a serious and very dangerous disease!"

Reid later addressed the negativity surrounding her weight and posted another photo from a different angle, where she looked less skinny. Admittedly, she has a high metabolism and finds difficulty gaining weight despite having ample food consumption.

Despite the hurtful comments, Reid still welcomed her fans with open arms and said she still loved them. "Keep spreading that love, it is the only thing that will save this world," she wrote.

Reid addressed the negative attacks and comments again during her recent interview with Extra, revealing that she is "getting a little older and fragile" but does not have an eating disorder. She is open to gaining more weight and building muscle in the process.

Previously, Reid joined the reality television show "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test," but eventually pulled out of the competition shortly after starting.

The actress initially competed to prove that she was worthy amidst all the bullying she faced. Fortunately, her time on the show allowed her to learn much about herself. She is even open to competing on the show again.

Reid is famous for starring in the "American Pie" film series alongside Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, and Alyson Hannigan.
